World Kabbalah Convention 2010 - November 9-11, 2010
About the World Kabbalah Convention 2010

Connecting for Good at the World Kabbalah Convention 2010

The world we live in operates on us in a perfect, unified way. Thus, we see that people profit when they are in correct relationship with the laws of nature. Yet, although we all understand that and wish to reach goodness, humanity has no solution as to how to follow nature's law of unity. It is according to this law whereby all people are connected to each other in order to achieve a good life.

Therefore, the ancient wisdom of Kabbalah, discovered centuries ago by those who throughout history felt that people need to operate in balance with nature, helps people understand how to keep this general law: the law that brings people to a balanced state with nature and to goodness in our days.

With the wisdom of Kabbalah, a unique and practical system of keeping balanced with nature, a person can achieve true connection with nature. This liberates the person from the constant instability of his inborn, egoistic nature, helping him rise beyond corporeal life and achieve a perfect eternal life.

Almost everyone today wishes for a good life. We wish to feel balanced and connected in this world in order to feel relief from the many crises we face in every aspect of life: in our personal and family life, economically, politically, culturally and also in our sense of security.

The wisdom of Kabbalah enables a person to experience much more than that relief. In our generation a person can attain the spiritual world and acquire the eternity and perfection that are inherent in nature. This is what Kabbalists tell us.

Therefore, we've gathered here to take part in this activity of following the natural law of unity, as the greatest Kabbalists tell us in The Book of Zohar and in all the Kabbalistic writings. We are delighted that you too are coming to take part in this special effort with us and to feel together the goodness that the wisdom of Kabbalah brings to the world.

 General Questions About The Convention

What is the World Kabbalah Convention and what is its purpose?

The Bnei Baruch Kabbalah Education & Research Institute holds an annual convention in Tel Aviv which brings together thousands of people who study or who are interested in the wisdom of Kabbalah, from all over the world, to take part in a 3 day powerful experience.

7,500 people from 54 countries are expected in the coming convention.

The purpose of the convention is to create a meeting place in which everyone will feel good, just like the name of the convention - Connecting for Good!

It is a place where participants will find the connection between their souls, between people who help each other, like a micro-humanity that spreads and grows with a correct attitude that brings only goodness and happiness.

 Lessons

A Kabbalah lesson is an experiential class in which each student is required to aim oneself properly to the influence of the writings of Kabbalists.

The classes at the World Kabbalah Convention 2010 will certainly be a rare emotional experience. Original Kabbalah manuscripts describe, in detail and with accuracy, the reality of our lives in the highest state. When we read these writings with thousands of other people, and want to reach that high spiritual state, we are "pulling" ourselves toward the same hidden reality, to where our soul and the forces that operate it are.

Concentrated Course in the Wisdom of Kabbalah

Kabbalah Convention

The 8 lessons at the World Kabbalah Convention 2010, all delivered by Dr. Michael Laitman, are a concentrated course in the wisdom of Kabbalah.

The lessons will deal with a wide range of issues, such as:

  • What is the purpose of our lives?
  • The structure of the spiritual soul and the Upper Worlds
  • Freedom of choice
  • The history of Kabbalah
  • Revealing the spiritual reality
  • The Zohar: its importance
  • The essence of and proper way to study The Zohar
  • And more...

Proper Preparation

Kabbalah study is not like any other study. Unlike the study methods known in our world, a Kabbalah lesson is not meant for gaining knowledge, or memorizing the material. A Kabbalah class is an experiential study in which each student is instructed to aim himself correctly to the influence of the writings of Kabbalists.

Before Kabbalah lessons, we need to aim and prepare ourselves for the recognition of new realities, a new world that Kabbalah is going to reveal to us. During the study, we should try to find what is written in Kabbalah within us; it does not matter to what extent we succeed, it's important to try: The struggle to find the qualities and actions that are written in the book inside ourselves, builds the instinct to absorb the spiritual world within us.

Yeshivot Haverim (Gatherings of Friends) at the Convention

The Yeshivat Haverim (gathering of friends) will be one of the most exciting activities at the convention. This year you can participate in these gatherings as well.

The Yeshivat Haverim is a tradition which dates back thousands of years, back to the days of the first Kabbalists. It is an integral part of path of spiritual development of Kabbalah students at all times.

According to the ancient tradition of the Kabbalists, Kabbalah students used to gather together once a week, to give inspiration, confidence, and feelings of warmth to each friend throughout each other's progress on the spiritual path. Therefore, the Yeshivat Haverim is probably the most exciting activity you will experience during the convention.

The Innermost Part of the Convention

The Yeshivat Haverim at the convention is composed of a host and a panel of a number of students, both new and veterans, who share their impression of the path of spiritual development. The participants at the gathering share their deepest emotions with the audience, and thereby allow all of the participants to connect with them, and increase everyone's desire to achieve the spiritual world.

In addition, during the gathering, which lasts an hour, we will be watching videos and singing songs to deepen and intensify the power of this joint act. The World Kabbalah Convention is a big gathering of friends, and the gatherings of friends held throughout the convention are its most inner part.

 Cultural Evenings

Every evening of the convention will showcase music and culture, all based on Kabbalistic concepts.

Cultural evenings are probably the most exciting events in every convention. They are the climax of each day. The evenings feature cultural activities such as music, theater, dancing, and comedy performances, all based on Kabbalistic concepts.

Among the participants in the cultural evenings will be artists and leading musical groups such as Arkadi Duchin, Hador Haacharon (The Future Generation), Moti Moore, and others.

The excitement and joy experienced by everyone is meant to reveal the spiritual reality, elevate the spirit and bring people together (both the performers and the audience). This is another step toward attaining the ultimate goal.

The hosts will present comic intervals and will play all the popular characters you have met on the Kabbalah L'Am TV channel, and there are more surprises...

 Meals

While having a meal we aspire to discover the Upper World and feel what a spiritual "meal" and spiritual "tastes" are.

The World Kabbalah Convention 2010 will include mutual meals according to Kabbalistic tradition. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, a meal represents a higher spiritual state in which the soul is filled with the Light of "eating" and "drinking," as a result of revealing the Upper Force - the Creator.

In the spiritual dimension, a meal cannot be eaten alone, since the vessel for the reception of the Upper Light comes only from the connection among people.

Therefore, through this supposedly simple, worldly action of eating together, we can bring ourselves another step closer to grasping spiritual reality.

Spiritual Tastes

Proper preparation for the meals during the convention depends only on the way you relate to it.

What's in it for you? Why are you eating here specifically, with thousands of people who are aimed toward the same goal, and not somewhere else?

Dring the time of the meal, just as when you do any other action during the convention, you should aspire to discover the Upper World, to find out what the spiritual "meal" and "tastes" are. During the meals, we will get to know new people who have a desire for the same things as us. Singing together during the meals and participating collectively in the musical programs during the convention contribute to the elation needed to discover the spiritual reality as a group.

Dining Arrangements at the Convention

During the convention, rich meals, including meat courses, will be served for lunch and dinner. In addition, vegetarian dishes and a wide selection of salads will be available. The meals will be served buffet-style.

During the day, refreshments will be freely available: coffee, a variety of teas, cookies, and hot dogs.
