81- Against Your Will You Live; Against Your Will You Die

“Against your will you live.” If a person does not want to receive life for himself, then he is alive.

“Against your will you die.” If a person does not want to die, as our sages said, “The wicked in their lives are called ‘dead,’” the more he does not want to be wicked, the more he is dead. That is, he achieves recognition of evil, which is called “dead.” Otherwise, he is in the life of the wicked.
