The Arvut
(Abbreviated)
All of Israel is responsible for one another.
This is to speak of the Arvut (Mutual Guarantee), when all of Israel became responsible for one another. The Torah was given to them only when everyone from Israel agreed to take upon himself the Mitzva (precept) of loving others in the full measure.
"Love thy friend as thyself" - to care and work for each member of the nation, and to satisfy all their every needs, no less than the measure imprinted in him to care for his own needs.
And once the whole nation unanimously agreed and said, "We shall do and we shall hear," each member of Israel became responsible that nothing shall be missing from any other member of the nation. Only then did they become worthy of receiving the Torah, and not before.
With this collective responsibility, each member of the nation was liberated from worrying about the needs of his own body and could keep the Mitzva, "Love thy friend as thyself" in the fullest measure, and give all that he had to any needy person, since he no longer cared for the existence of his own body, as he knew for certain that he was surrounded by loyal lovers, who were standing ready to provide for him.
For this reason, they were not ready to receive the, but only when they came out of Egypt and became a complete nation. Only then was there a possibility to guarantee everyone's needs without any care and concern.
However, while they were still mingled with the Egyptians, permeated with self-love, to that extent they won't be able to care for the needs of their friends.
For as long as the individual is troubled with concerns for himself, he is unfit to even begin to keep theMitzva, "Love thy friend as thyself."
If Israel keep the Arvut they can bring contentment to their Maker. If a part of the nation does not want to keep the Arvut, but rather chooses to wallow in self-love, they cause the rest of the nation to remain immersed in their filth and lowliness without ever finding a way out of their filth.
18) Arvut is described as two people on a boat, where if one of them drills a hole in the boat they both drown together. That prevents the other from even begin to fully keep the Mitzva of "Love thy friend as thyself" to reach adhesion with the creator and they are both lost.
19) Rabbi Elazar says that the whole world is included in that Arvut. However it is enough to start with one nation the correction of the world. It was impossible to begin with all the nations at once, since they were immersed in the filth of self-love up to their necks.
Because of their ancestral merit reflected upon them, who observed the whole Torah even before it was given because of the exaltedness of their souls without first needing the ladder of the practical part of the Torah, which they had no possibility of observing at all.Hence, only the members of the Israeli nation were admitted into the required Arvut.
20) But the end of the correction of the world will be by bringing all the people in the world under His work. The role of Israel towards the rest of the world resembles the role of our Holy Fathers towards the Israeli nation: It is upon the Israeli nation to qualify itself and all the people of the world to develop until they take upon themselves that sublime work of the love of others, which is the ladder to the purpose of Creation, which is Dvekut with Him.
Thus, each and every Mitzva that each person from Israel performs in order to bring contentment to one's Maker, helps with the development of all the people of the world, until it increases to such a degree that it can bring all the people in the world to the desired purity called "shifting the balance to virtue."
21) The role of the Israeli nation is to qualify the world for a certain measure of purity, until they are worthy of taking upon themselves His work, no less than Israel were worthy. Everyone takes part in this shifting and every individual from Israel sentences the whole world to a scale of merit.
22) He is obliged to perform all the Mitzvot Lishma (for Her sake), without any hope for self-love, meaning that no glory or hope returns to him through his trouble in the form of reward or honor, etc. Here, in this exalted point, the love of the Creator and the love of his friend unite and actually become one.
Thus he affects a certain measure of advancement on the ladder of love for others in all the people of the world in general. And if he cannot overcome his filthy self-love, he sentences himself and the whole world to the scale of sin.
23) The purpose of Creation lies on the shoulders of the whole of the human race. But because of the descent of human nature to the lowest degree, which is the self-love that unrestrictedly rules over all of humanity, there was no way to persuade them to agree to take upon themselves to exit their narrow world into the wide spaces of the love of others. The exception was the Israeli nation because they were enslaved in Egypt in horrible torments.
And in addition, the purification of their Holy Fathers they were qualified to bond and "camp before the mountain," as "one man in one heart." This is because each and every person from the nation completely detached himself from self-love, and wanted only to benefit his friend, for only then were they qualified to receive the Torah.
24) Thus the Torah was given specifically to the Israeli nation. Because of that, the Israeli nation had been constructed as a sort of gateway by which the sparks of purity would shine upon the whole of the human race the world over.
And these sparks multiply daily, until they are filled sufficiently and develop to such an extent that they can understand the pleasantness and tranquility that are found in the kernel of love of others.
25) The Torah was not given to our fathers, because the Mitzva, "Love thy friend as thyself," the axis of the whole Torah cannot be observed by an individual, but only through the consent of an entire nation.
And this is why it took until they came out of Egypt, when they became worthy of observing it. And then they were first asked if each and every one of the nation agreed to take that Mitzva upon himself. And once they agreed to it, they were given the Torah.
26) The creator said: if you keep my covenant ye shall be Mine own treasure from among all peoples; ... and ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests.
The people said: "We shall do."
But it doesn't say what the work and what the reward are once they agreed.
27) The creator offers them the whole form and content of the work in Torah and Mitzvot, and its' worthwhile reward. The work in Torah and Mitzvot is expressed in the words, "and ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests." Just as the priests have no land or any corporeal possessions because the Creator is their domain.
Even the work of satisfying the needs of the others is like the work that the priests performed in the Temple which brings people closer to the creator and everything in it will be dedicated to the Creator only. And no person should have any other engagement in it but to keep the Mitzvotof the Creator and to satisfy the needs of his fellow person, so that no person will need to have any worry about himself.
The work: "a kingdom of priests" expresses the complete form of the work on the axis of "Love thy friend as thyself." The reward: "a holy nation" expresses the full form of the reward, which is the Dvekut.
28) This means that you will be My treasure, and sparks of purification and cleansing of the body shall pass through you onto all the peoples and the nations of the world, And at any rate, I need one nation to start with now, so it will be as a remedy for all the nations to bring the nations of the world to cleave to Me.
Focusing Our Thoughts - Preparation for a Kabbalah Lesson
"We need to unite with one purpose. Not to forget that we study together, and by the joint study we call the force which elevates us. If we forget this, if each one of us studies and worries for his own progress, it will be a real loss for us all.
What should we watch out for? - Losing the fear of forgetting all this.
It's critical to fear forgetting the unity, because when you forget you become as a foreign body, a cancerous cell which causes great harm to the body - and this harm comes back to affect you."
Before going to sleep
Go to sleep with perfection in mind. Read a short piece about the unity, about your connection to the Creator.
"Now I place myself in the hands of God".
Waking up in the morning
Wake up on 'kav yamin' (the right line) with the same thought you went to sleep with.
Then
gradually add self-criticism; "What is the use of waking up, what do I
want to achieve today, what do I want from my study, how does my study
today differ from that of yesterday and how do I want it to affect me
during the day".
Lesson - Perfection and lack at the same time
Before
the lesson you must enter perfection. You must be in equivalence of
form with everything you wish to come into contact with.
The
Torah, the lights - this is perfection. If you wish to receive them
you must be in perfection as well. Perfection is confidence, perfection
is the Creator, His control over me. The way He wishes to grant me
everything.
You check your 'Kli' and you scrutinize your relationship with the Creator.
These are two different things:
How He relates to me - in this I have full confidence and security. Confidence that He is my savior, without a doubt.
How
I relate to Him - I am not yet in a corrected state, I am imperfect
and not in equivalence of form with Him. I cannot bestow upon him, nor
to be in a state of mutual bestowal with Him.
We
must be fully aware of the perfection of the book and it's authur.
Fully aware of the perfection of the subject of our study - the
actions of the Creator.
On one hand, I stand before the entrance to the treasury. I've been invited to enter Perfection and infinity.
On the other hand, what am I lacking?
What's
missing is for me to find that I'm actually lacking that same
Perfection that the book tells us of. Perfection in Bestowal. Otherwise I
will not draw the light, but instead demand knowledge or other egoistic
fillings.
The lack before a lesson should be the lack for that higher level which the book details. It must be a connection to "Atzilut".
I must rise a little higher with my lack, and from there draw the lights.
Intention: mid-lesson memorandum
We
need to unite with one purpose. Not to forget that we study together,
and by the joint study we receive the force which elevates us. If we
forget this, if each one of us studies and worries for his own progress,
it will be a real loss for us all.
Therefore, all of us together, in every thought we think, in everything we study, we yearn for this one goal.
Inner prayer
The
inner prayer is the innermost desire of a person. The desire that
within him, within his friends, that within the entire assembly the law
of the unified 'Kli' will manifest.
The
law of the corrected Adam who receives all the light of 'Ein Sof'
(eternity), the revelation of the Creator, the desire to feel how the
Creator fits within us and is revealed without limits.
To wait for this to happen at every moment. The inner prayer is more than just shouting "We're going to bass the barrier".
What should we watch out for?
Losing the fear of forgetting all this.
It's
critical to fear forgetting the unity, because when you forget you
become as a foreign body, a cancerous cell which causes great harm to
the body - and this harm comes back to affect you.
The Order of the Society's Gathering
If you won't awaken the friends, you won't reach the goal. If the friends do not awaken you, they will not reach the goal, because you won't reach the goal. The action must be mutual.
1 - When gathering, we should praise the friends, the importance of each of the friends
Why
do you attend the gathering? What do you want from your life? Why have
you 'landed' here at all? You must, as a rule, awaken these questions
within you and not mask or muddy them, or there will be no use for the
gathering.
You must do this in a purposeful and deliberate manner.
On
your way to the gathering, hold on to the intention of preparing
yourself for the gathering. Search for answers - what do you need
this gathering for? Is it because it's written that on such and such day
we assemble and you have an evening to burn? and maybe you actually
really want to attend? Or perhaps just feel bad about not attending?
Another
option is to awaken within yourself such a desire, that even if there
was no gathering and nobody even wanted to gather, you would
nevertheless round everyone up by force if necessary. This is called:
"When gathering, we should praise the friends, the importance of each of
the friends".
Without them you will not reach the goal. Without arousing in them desire for the goal, you will not reach it.
Their necessity in reaching the goal is your fuel.
Then
you see that if you do not gather at least once a week in order to
'refuel' until the next gathering, you will be left powerless - may as
well 'erase' this life and go home.
We
must make sure this is important to us. This is called 'To affirm the
importance of the friends'. As the Rabash writes; "Why did I choose
these friends".
2 - Each friend should examine himself and see how much effort he is giving to the society
If
the society is important enough to you, that you see above any doubt
that without the society you do not possess the vessel for discovering
the Creator, for 'welcoming Divine Providence', for containing the
plenty that resides within Providence, then by the degree to which you
long for these things, as much as you need to reach the goal, by that
degree you must feel the need for the correct tools and means.
It
cannot be that the goal is important but the society isn't. This
approach is derived from not understanding the means and the goal. True,
the goal is the Creator, but the means by which the Creator is revealed
is the corrected society.
If
so, who can prepare this 'Kli' (in hebrew: 'Vessel'/'Instrument')? Me?
Perhaps someone else in the society? Maybe the Rav, or maybe we get it
from 'above'? After all these thoughts and inquiries you must reach a
situation where this 'Kli' is 100% in your hands. If you do not
contribute to the society and do not awaken it 100% to the creation of
this instrument, they will do nothing for you. You must be 100%
confident of your ability to awaken the society to the maximal level for
the creation of this 'Kli'.
You
must be utterly sure that if the friends are not 100% commited to 100%
productivity in the production of the 'Kli', then you have no hope of
reaching the goal.
This means that if you do not awaken the friends, you will never reach the goal.
If
the friends do not awaken you, they will not reach the goal because you
won't reach the goal. The action must be mutual. This brings you to the
feeling of 'mutual responsibility', to the feeling of being hapless and
helpless by yourself. You are in the hands of society.
You
cannot really affect them or force them, you cannot purchase from them
this 'mutual guarantee'. For them to give you their 'Kli'. You cannot
obligate them in this by any force except love.
Love is the one thing that will obligate the friends.
Love
will obligate them even against their wishes. If they have a point in
the heart belonging to the goal, by your love you will make them love
you. This is the law of love.
If one begins to love another and bestow upon him, then he also wishes to be loved in return. and he will be. Without a doubt.
Even
in corporeal daily life, if there is a relationship between a 'less
desirable' woman and a 'more desirable' man, by her bestowing upon him
gifts and affection she can obligate him to love her.
And we are within a group. We have formed at least some degree of relationship.
This
means that even if the divide between us is very large, if there's
already the seed of connection then "Love will cover all sins". Nothing
can withstand this power.
And
so you must understand that if do not love them 100% they will not
awaken and give you the 'Kli' for reaching the goal. Your friends'
awakening towards you is dependent entirely on your love for them. It
does not depend on them, but on you alone. As you come to see this, fear
awakens within you:
Do
you love them enough? Do you contribute to them? Are you willing to do
anything for them? Are you willing to nullify yourself completely? To
only serve them by the law of love?
If you are ready, then there is no doubt you will elicit the appropriate reaction from them.
You do not come to them in order to receive, but rather in order to bestow.
That
is why we say that 'my friends corporeal needs are my spiritual needs'.
You see the friend as someone you wish to bestow upon. His corporeal
needs are your spiritual needs. For this you will receive spiritual
powers.
You
must be certain that as a result of your actions, you will discover the
force of mutual guarantee. You do not demand love of them, because if
you demand love it would be as if you wish to receive. You demand from
them mutual responsibility. What is mutual responsibility? A mutual
guarantee to reach the Creator. You demand from them to give you
confidence in the mutuality of this connection, and thus you cease
thinking of this world.
You are now like a baby in the arms of his mother.
He
doesn't know where he is, but he just has this feeling that he's in the
right place. He does not need to worry about a thing. If you bestow
love to the society, you receive in return this kind of strength and
this kind of promise, that you do not think of this world.
It
gives you the ability to 'depart' from this world. You operate within
it as you regularly do, but whatever happens on this level is of no real
importance to you.
It's
not important how you put it - whether this whole world belongs to you
or does not belong to you, in any case you feel yourself less dependent
on it. You feel connected to the Creator. This assurance and confidence
you receive from the society in return for love.

3 - To pray for the Creator to give strength and willingness to practice the love of friends
End and Beginning must be tied together.
You begin and end with the purpose of creation. No action of yours can be for good if it does not begin with the Creator.
The
creator gives you the desire, strength and direction. Even in the
beginning of the path, when it appears to you that you've started on it
- it was, in fact, He who put you on it. That is why you felt the way
you did.
And
now, when you turn to the society for the strength to approach Him, you
ask Him for the strength that always, in every action, "I, The Creator
and the Tora" will be bound together as one.
Otherwise the action will not succeed.
The strength to approach him, the power you work with - the Creator has to be within it as the operator.
You latch on to the Creator like a baby holding on to his mother and expecting her to act for him.
The baby only hangs on to her and shows her what to do. We know what babies are like.
4 - To think even now as if his prayer has been accepted, and rejoice with the friends
The Creator gives him the power to love the friends.
In
return for his love of the friends, one is certain that he will receive
mutual responsibility. And if he receives mutual responsibility from
them, he will adhere to the creator.
Mutual responsibility enables this for him.
And then, if this prayer has been accepted and the Creator performs this action for him, he rejoices with the friends.
Happiness must be outwardly evident and come as the direct result of this process. Otherwise it is fools happiness.
5
- Each one should speak of the importance of the society as much as he
can, describing the profits that society will give him, which he cannot
obtain by himself
We
all speak of the importance of society. This means we have in our hands
a treasure that enables us to discover Providence. The 'Malchut'
(Kingdom). The shared vessel wherein the Creator dwells.
If
we discover Him, we will find both ourselves and the divine light
within Him. None of us can achieve this by his own power. Each one is
dependent on the others, and only by his love can he obligate the
others.
We elevate our shared 'MAN' (prayer, wish) to the Creator to do this for and through us, so that we may adhere to Him and be as Him.
6 - The dispersion of the assembly should be in a state of joy and elation
If
we carry out these actions as if we have completed the objectives of
our gathering to perfection, there must be a feeling of security and
happiness because we have related to the finalized state. The final
state is already in existence, and if we have not yet attained it, then
we have yet more to do on our path.
But in this path, each action we get to carry out is as great a privilege and honor as attaining the final goal is.
The
Creator enjoys those who are on the path and exert themselves. By this
we give him greater pleasure than by receiving recompense. With this
happiness we must leave the gathering of friends. It must give us the
strength of inspiration for the whole week.
We
need place ourselves each time within this light and vessel together.
The same discernments we make within the framework of these six clauses,
the six steps of a gathering, must be found in each and every one of
us. We must share these same feelings, the same discernments, that same
view of life.
This is the order of the society's gathering.

We Are All One Family - based on the Peace in the World article

Humanity has become a single society, inside a single system
The mutual guarantee as a condition to the global crisis' solution
Re-education: the use of the environment's influence will lead to changes in society's values
* * *
Humanity has become a single society, inside a single system
Everything in reality, good and bad, and even the most harmful in the world, has a right to exist and should not be eradicated from the world and destroyed. We must only mend and reform it.
(Baal HaSulam)
Peace in the World
Each and every individual in society is like a wheel that is linked to several other wheels, placed in a machine. And this single wheel has no freedom of movement in and of itself, but continues with the motion of the rest of the wheels in a certain direction, to qualify the machine to perform its general role.
And if there is some breakdown in the wheel, the breakdown is not evaluated relating to the wheel itself, but according to its service and role with respect to the whole machine.
(Baal HaSulam)
Peace in the World
The benefit of each and every person within his collective is evaluated not according to his own goodness, but according to his service to the public. And vice-versa, we appreciate the attribute of evil of each and every individual only according to the harm one inflicts upon the public in general, and not by one's own individual value.
(Baal HaSulam)
Peace in the World
Do not be surprised if I mix together the well-being of a particular collective with the well-being of the whole world, because indeed, we have already come to such a degree that the whole world is considered one collective and one society. Meaning, because each person in the world draws his life's marrow and his livelihood from all the people in the world, he is coerced to serve and care for the well-being of the whole world.
(Baal HaSulam)
Peace in the World
* * *
The mutual guarantee as a condition to the global crisis' solution
The drawback, the place that needs correction...is that each and every individual will understand that his own benefit and the benefit of the collective are one and same thing. In that, the world will come to its full correction.
(Baal HaSulam)
Peace in the World
Therefore, the possibility of making good, happy, and peaceful conducts in one state is inconceivable when it is not so in all the countries in the world, and vice versa. In our time, the countries are all linked in the satisfaction of their needs of life, as individuals were in their families in earlier times. Therefore, we can no longer speak or deal with just conducts that promise the well-being of one country or one nation, but only the well-being of the whole world because the benefit or harm of each and every person in the world depends and is measured by the benefit of all the people in the whole world.
(Baal HaSulam)
Peace in the World
But this is all a private calculation, as when one works for oneself. But in a global calculation, the individual produces more than he takes for his own pleasure and sustenance. Thus, if the direction were to change from self-reception to bestowal, the individual will enjoy the entire produce he produces without much pain.
(Baal HaSulam)

Re-education: the use of the environment's influence will lead to changes in society's values
First, everyone must thoroughly understand and explain to his surroundings that the well-being of society, which is the well-being of the state and the well-being of the world, are completely interdependent. As long as the laws of society are not satisfactory to each and every individual in the state, and leave a minority that is unsatisfied with the government of the state, this minority conspires under the government of the state and seeks to overthrow it.
(Baal HaSulam)
Peace in the World
This era that we are in has already developed to a great extent and has already risen many degrees. It has already risen above its lowest phase, which is the above-mentioned second side, and has come significantly closer to the first side.
Therefore, there are already people among us who use their singularity in forms of bestowal upon others. But they are still few, as we are still in the midst of the path of development.
(Baal HaSulam)
Peace in the World
When we come to the Highest point of the degrees, we will all be using our singularity only in a form of bestowal upon others, and there will never be any case of any person using it in a form of self-reception.
By those words, we find the opportunity to examine the conditions of life in the last generation - the time of world peace, when the whole of humanity achieves the level of the first side and will use their singularity only in the form of bestowal upon others, and not at all in the form of reception for self.

The only hope is to establish a thoroughly new national education for ourselves, to discover and ignite once more the natural national love that have been dimmed within us, to revive once more the national muscles, which have been inactive in us for two millennia, in every suitable means to this end. Then we will know that we have a natural, reliable foundation to be rebuilt and to continue our existence as a nation, qualified to carry itself as all the nations in the world.

The Freedom
The Last Generation Writings by Baal HaSulam – Selected excerpts
Life’s trend is to gain his adherence meticulously for the benefit of the Creator. Or to favor the “many which will reach adherence with the Creator”!
The parable of the lost in the desert
A parable to a society, hungry and thirsty and lost in the desert. And here, one of them found a dwelling. He was reminded of his miserable brothers, although he has been disconnected from them for long until he didn't know their whereabouts. He began shouting; maybe his friends will hear his voice and will come too to this dwelling filled with all the good.
This is how the matter before us is: here we are lost in the horrible desert together with all of humanity, and now we found a great treasure, which is the books of Kabbalah, which satisfy our souls. Only the memory of our lost friends who are lost in the desert gives us no rest. Although the distance is great between us, and our words are not heard, accordingly we
arranged these writings, maybe our brothers will hear, and come close to us, and be happy like us.

Brothers know, that the Wisdom of Kabbalah is the knowledge, how we the world comes from its heights to the current lowness. Therefore it is easy to find in it all the corrections on our path from here forth, through the worlds that preceded us.
We develop somewhat due to the urgency behind us by sufferings, and it seems as if there is no advice to avoid it, but here before you is the book, in which all the wisdom of the nations, and all the orders of the individual and the society, which will be at the end of times, meaning, the books of Kabbalah.
Open these books and you will find all the good arrangements that will be revealed in the end of days, and from them you will receive the good moral, how to arrange things also today in your ways in this world - that you are able to study the passing history, and from it correcting the history to come.
And I put all this on my heart, until I couldn't refrain any more, and it was agreed with me to reveal the ways of correction. And I will call the dwellers of this world with this Shofar, which according to my opinion will suffice to gather all of these, to begin and study in the books, and will determine themselves and the whole world to the scale of merit.
Egoism and altruism
People are divided into two types: egoists and altruists.
- Egoists - meaning, all they do is for their own benefit. And if they do for others benefit, they need worthy retribution like money or honor.
- Altruists - meaning, they sacrifice themselves for the benefit of others without compensation.
And here egoism is in the nature of every person, like in all animals, but altruism is against human nature. And with all this virtuous individuals are gifted with this nature, which I call idealists. But every state or society is mostly made of simple flesh and bones people, meaning egoists. And few are the exception to the rule to be altruists. At most, there will be ten percent of a society.
There is no advice to avoid trouble, other than all the nations take on them the altruistic regime.
But the whole problem with the altruistic regimes of today - with the lack of reward, which is the fuel for the work of workers, which is now fuel of compensation and punishment. After all not punishments, nor education, nor public opinion can change man's nature. So that he will work from his free will without suitable fuel.
And there is no advice for this. Other than bringing in the heart of the worker in faith of spiritual compensation and punishment from the Creator. Through suited education and campaign, this spiritual compensation and punishment will be sufficient fuel for the fruition of their work, and won't need more managers and supervisors to stand over them. Rather each and every one will work for the society with more and more of a desired soul, in order to gain his compensation from the heavens.
Central principles
- Altruism - ethics of "work to your ability and receive according to needs".
- The whole world is one family. And the altruistic framework needs in the end to surround the whole world in an equal level of life to all. Although the practical process is slow, until every nation with the majority of the public in it taking upon themselves the basic rules in a practical way, and will have a sure factor for fuel, as they enter immediately to the altruistic framework.
- The economical form - one for all nations. Other than the religious forms and customs. Which do not affect th
e economy, and in them each would have its own form, and it shouldn't be changed.
- How to correct the world with the Wisdom of Kabbalah before promising the world the general correction.
- A detailed plan from all the rules needs making, and anyone entering the altruistic framework needs to swear allegiance.
- At first a small institution need making in which most of its society will be altruistic. Working diligently such as in contracting, and each and every one will work to his ability and receive according to his needs. And it will have all the forms of leadership of a country, until even if the framework of this establishment contains within it the whole world, the whole fist regime will be totally cancelled out, and there will be no need to change a thing both in work and in management. And this institution will be sort of a central global point, to which nations and states will go to and circle until the end of times. And all assets in this framework will have one plan and one management with the center, and will be truly like one nation for gains and losses and results.
- It is forbidden for anyone of the institution people to use any foreign institution; rather all conflicts will be handled between themselves, meaning the sides that are touching the matter. And the public opinion, which condemns egoism, will condemn any person who uses his friend for his benefit. The time has come to govern in one country an example of an altruistic society.
- The altruistic society shouldn't be established prior to the majority of the people being in the desire to bestow.
- It is upon Israel to take on the structure of the international altruistic state first for all nations, to show the good and beauty in this regime, to be the vanguard for world salvation.
- Education, building the young generation, and a stable society for generations - can only be assured if we establish altruistic education, and although at first it is coerced, its end is in desire.
- There is no advice or trick for the failures that will come from the fear of wars and unemployment and lowness, other than building an altruistic society. Therefore these things are towards the diligent and intelligent, for they won't take it on, only the failed will be able to understand the need for it, and those who share their sorrow.
- In the end the altruistic society will circle the world in an equal live of life. Although the practical process is slow, for each nation to have the majority of its public already educated for bestowal to others, and enter the international altruistic framework. And all nations, already entered into the international altruistic system, will have an equal level of life, in the way that the surplus of a rich nation or diligent one will complement the level of life in a failed or poor nation in the way of raw materials and means of production.
- The spiritual form for all nations will be bestowal to others, and in "love thy friend as thy self", to not enjoy the society more than from a failed friend. And besides this each nation can go in its religion and traditions, and no one will interrupt with their neighbor.
- Most of the nation is primitive like ancient men, for they didn't try to use the Wisdom of Kabbalah. Development is done by many sufferings in a causal and dialectical path, but the majority of the people doesn't pay attention to the order of development and therefore doesn't grasp it. The only advice is to educate the majority of the people in a beneficial way through the Wisdom of Kabbalah, in condemnation of the desire to receive, and by the beauty in the desire to bestow.
- The purpose from life - to attain adhesion with the Creator so as to please Him alone, or to purify others so that they may attain adhesion with the Creator.
- The governance of the Creator on the creatures is in an egoistic way which necessarily brings the world to destruction, if they don't take on the method of bestowal. Therefore there is a pragmatic need for the method of bestowal. From which we come to "Lishma".
- Good virtues, "not in order to receive a prize", based upon the responsibility towards the human society, attained by education. Although the education need the public opinion, to provide for and keep one after leaving the educational system. The public opinion is only drawn from the benefit of the public.
- Knowledge - comes from sensorial observation (experiments), or historical (from documents), or mathematical (from number combinations, size and molds). And the Wisdom of Kabbalah is glad of all these ways, but it doesn't accept the way to knowledge from philosophical inferences (deduction or induction - from total to details or details to whole), for this is a severe forbiddance in the Wisdom of Kabbalah, for "anything we don't attain, we won't know".
- The cooperative idea needs cooking and maturity in man's minds for no less than 3 whole generations, of peace and general agreement. And therefore many more incarnations and trials will come to the world prior to it coming to the end - and there is no easy way to cook the ideas, only through the Wisdom of Kabbalah.
- All the hoped benefit from the Creator a well as the purpose of all of creation is the adhesion in the Creator in the secret of "a tower filled with plentitude and no guests", and it is received by those adhered with the Creator with love. And it is clear that at first we exit the house of bondage which is the exit from the flesh of his body to bestowal to others, and later come to the hall of the King which is the adhesion to Him through the intention to bestow comfort to his creator. Therefore the main part of the Mitzvot (acts that prompt adhesion) is between one and his friends. And preference first to the Mitzvot between one and the place, similarly to rising to the second degree prior to rising to the first degree, for it is clear he will break his legs.
- The soul is revealed to one only through actions to attain the Creator, for it is part of the Creator. The soul is attained only through actions to attain the names of the Creator in a subjective manner.
Convention Preparation Excerpts
Go only with the positive force! Connect with others, integrate into the group, The importance of inner work, opening oneself up to the society, maintaining the hull of the boat, hastening correction by inner connection.
What is the purpose of the convention?
Adhesion.
There is no other purpose. If I do not demand adhesion along with every
single action, the action is sidelined and is no longer aligned with
the purpose.
What should I be thinking at any given moment in order to achieve this goal?
We attain adhesion by the love of the Creator.
The love of the creator we attain by the love of others.
The
love of others we attain by the light, which shines on us and gifts us
with this love - and we draw this light to us by our willingness to
be mutually responsible for one another.
This
mutual responsibility we attain by understanding that our personal,
private life is nothing, and that spirituality is only found within the
connection among us.
The
shared vessel that will form by the power of our connection is modeled
after the purpose of creation - the perfect reality that the Creator
prepared.
And there we shall reveal Him.
If
during the convention I experience a state of heaviness, a lack of
levity, a feeling that I'm not one with the friends, what should I do?
I need to align every feeling with the goal, so that I could rise above any specific state due to the importance of the goal.
A convention is better when its outwardly expression is relatively calm,
because it is more internal, and this is in turn expressed by the
external behavior of the friends during the feasts and activities. You
simply feel satiated. You are satiated by feeling of the shared vessel,
in all its perfection.
Go only with the positive force
Each
of us connects with the others, not to control them with his
inclinations and judgments, but in order to receive from them the
strength to battle himself. To control his inner "snake" so that it does
not rear its head, and to rise above the 'mountain', his ego, so he
could attain "Faith Above Reason".
I
unite with everyone to receive from them the power to face my ego,
because by rising above my ego within the group and surrendering my
'self' to them, willing to accept whatever they say to me, only then
will I receive from them the power to defeat my ego. This is the goal.
How can I be sure that all my friends are with me in the desire for Spirituality?
You can be sure that they're with you.
As long as you have the desire for Spirituality, they are all with you. They are all one hundred percent willing and able.
The question is, are you with them?
There are no restrictions on their part. No barriers and delays. They're ready.
Towards you, they are as the Creator - everything is prepared, and it all depends solely on you.
What is true Bestowal?
You
need to progress within the society with "faith above reason" and you
need to assure yourself that this investment will bring you to bestowal.
Bestowal means that I get nothing in return. That I invest in the society with the express goal of not getting anything back, and that is the payment that I wish to get; Nothing.
As much as I enjoy investing and demanding nothing in return, that is the payment.
The ability to do this is called 'Bestowal'.
What is the meaning of Annulling oneself?
Annulling
oneself means that it must be clear to one that in order to receive
support from the society - the strength to bestow, to even wish to be
able to bestow in the first place - he must annul himself and give
himself over to them.
To bow to their will, which is to adhere to the Creator.
To integrate with the group
To
integrate with the group is to accept each and every member as my full
partner, inseparable from me when it comes to the Path. We are as one.
We
share our internality, our desires, our plans, as if everything each of
us has going on in life has congregated into one person rather than
remaining divided between several.
If I attain this feeling, this is an appropriate vessel for the sensation of unity.
And the sensation of unity comes with the sensation of fulfillment.
Fulfillment - the light - created the vessel as one, and if we reconstitute this one vessel, even to a small degree, we will feel the light that created and maintains the vessel.
The importance of inner work
What
we do within the convention is very inner, very important, because we
want to receive the Torah. But success in this mission is dependent on
us thinking together, wishing together that this won't be an egoistic deed, for our own benefit, but rather
that we wish to receive the Torah for the benefit of the entire world.
If we do not set ourselves as Israel - the passageway for the light - then this action will be purely egoistic.
We receive only to the degree that we are able to share what we receive with the whole world, and so, to please the creator.
To open myself up to the group
They can't make it without me.
If I fail to make even a small rowing motion with my oar, they will not make landfall.
They
can sail for thousands of kilometers, but if I fail to help progress
the ship that one last millimeter that depends on me, they will all be
cut off from the goal.
And it doesn't matter if we are thousands of kilometers or one millimeter away, because Spirituality is perfection. The action has to be perfect.
And so I feel my own significance, and along with that, my responsibility and the details of the duty that I must perform.
Each one taking part in the convention must understand this, or he may fail to take advantage of the convention.
Therefore each and every one who takes part must see himself as 'small' and 'significant' at once.
Significant - because it is 'all up to me'.
For me the world was created, "If I am not for myself, then who will be for me".
The
action is mine to perform, and I must perform it. I am special among
all the souls, because I add the last part missing from absolute
perfection.
And
on the other hand, I'm small - they all impress their wills upon me,
and if I gather impressions from them, it is sure that I will perform my
duty correctly. Therefore I diminish my self for them to impress me. I absorb their words and feelings, I want them
to work on me, for them to give me their unique qualities, their
perspectives, their thoughts. For them to determine everything for me on
my path.
To maintain the hull of the boat
What can one say to oneself to amplify his fear of being the one who 'drills a hole'?
If
he wishes to unite with everyone, to simply lose his head, to lose
himself among them all, then there is no problem. Nothing more is
expected, this is enough.
Then
he will absorb the right spirit from everyone, and will flow with them
in the right direction. He doesn't need to know, he doesn't need to be a
great expert, he doesn't need to be the Captain. We already have a
Captain. Our Captain above, he runs things.
We must only nullify our selves to the path he leads us on, that is all.
We
do not understand what to do; what sails, what turns, the direction of
wind, the direction of the goal. Nothing is clear to us. We know only
one thing - we must maintain the hull. The hull of the boat symbolizes
our desires, bound together, whatever may come.
Hastening correction by inner connection
Whatever
happens to me in the convention, happens for me to correct it in an
instant and return once again to the unity with others.
When
I get all manner of errant thoughts, diversions and whatever may come, I
will have such great strength that I will be able to correct it
instantly.
If you wish to use the shared strength of all, you must connect with them.
This
means to stay focused on your connection to others, and as soon as
stray thoughts come along, integrate them into this connection as well.
Intentions in the convention
When
we sing, listen to a lesson, enjoy the cultural programs and activities
or when we eat and talk, raise a toast (LECHAIM!) or go to sleep at the
end of the day, our intentions are aimed at eternity.
We intend only to unite together to an 'arc' and reach the goal. The
purpose of the convention is to 'upgrade' ourselves, raise ourselves to a
higher plane, and continue on from there.
I
want for that effort, that feeling, that inner strength that I'll feel
in the convention to remain with me for the rest of my life, in
permanence, and from there I will be able to ascend higher and higher.
We are now preparing ourselves for this ascension .
The Lessons
The crucial thing is to bring ourselves to FEEL, even to a small extent, what is unity.
That
within it one may feel the attribute of Bestowal, and within Bestowal,
to feel the Creator who alone maintains this whole universe. This is the
crucial thing, and this is what we aim to achieve in this convention.
The
lessons during the convention, and the convention itself, though it is only
a 3 day affair, imparts upon us powerful forward momentum. This push is
certainly equal to many months of study. Let's say, half a year.
If
one participates in the convention to the best of his ability, he feels
this 'charge'. All this happens against his ego - there is an
integration of souls and they all pour together, connect and combine
together.
Therefore, the lesson in the convention are more emotionally intense and affect the soul to a much greater degree.
The importance of the Feast
What's special about people feasting together?
That the result of this is connection between the souls.
When
we begin to correct our souls, we connect together into this kind of
structure, and when we sit and feast together we express our willingness
to unite together as one.
We
need to think about this during the feast, we need to think of how we
internalize all these 'flavors'. Uniting together as one will draw upon
us the Light that Reforms - Bestowal - which we may then internalize
in turn.
If I don't unite with others, then I won't have any returning light and will not be able to contain anything. Therefore, when we feast
together, we must remember how potent this action is for the purpose of
achieving adhesion to the Creator and receiving His Plenty, His
celestial 'flavors'.
This is the spiritual root of Kabalistic feasts, and so they are of great importance to us.
Events and activations in the convention
A great many of our friends will be in virtual contact with us during the convention.
So
they ask: which events and activities are most crucial for me to
attend, virtually, within the convention? because I cannot participate in
everything.
The
lessons, the workshops, the cultural events, wherever there is singing,
performances by the friends, all this is very important. At these times
each person should be with us to the best of his ability. I cannot even
say what is better or less beneficial in terms of the quality of
Bestowal, what is more or less important.
I
think that when you listen, when you hear how the friends speak, how
they feel, it's no less important than my lessons. When we listen to
their performances and workshops, the gathering of friends or
concerts... This is no less important.
It's all crucial, really. The same spirit flows through all of it.
If
you feel that there is something more important than these events, then
this is a picture your Ego paints for you, because these are actually
the most powerful parts of our convention, and so the ego is naturally
repelled by them, as if they're unimportant.
Distractions in the convention
Do
not worry about distractions and thoughts that awaken within you that
you do not wish to share your mind with. "I feel bad, what kind of
people are these, they don't speak properly, they're rude, always
arguing, they all have different opinions", Pay no heed to these
'external' egoistic phenomena.
Note
instead that these people have invested much time and effort to come
together, and if someone has such thoughts during this meeting, it is
actually a good sign.
As we wish to correct our ego to a certain degree, by that degree it reveals itself to us.
Therefore
you, within yourself, must be rigidly composed - because you're
coming to a very special meeting with the higher source, the higher
power that can correct you.
Practical Advice from the Social Writings
Summaries of elemental articles by Baal HaSulam and Rabash. These are the main articles upon which all activities at the convention will be based - everything depends on the preparation!
By us being in a group together like brothers, in love of friends, we will be able to rise to adhesion with the Creator.
And this ladder is called "the path of bestowal", which is against our nature. Therefore in order to reach it, the only advice is love of friends, with which each will be able to help his friend.
(Article "Love of Friends")
We have gathered here to establish a society for all who wish to follow the path and method of Baal HaSulam, the way by which to climb the degrees of man, and not remain as a beast
(Article "Purpose of Society")
We gather here to establish a society where each of us follows the spirit of bestowing upon the Creator. And to achieve bestowal upon the Creator, we must begin with bestowal upon man, which is called "love of others."
And love of others can only be with revoking one's self. Thus, on the one hand, each person should feel lowly, and on the other hand, be proud that the Creator has given us the chance to be in a society where each of us has but a single goal: for Divinity to be among us.
(Article "Purpose of Society")
The advice for one to be able to increase his strength in the rule, "Love thy friend," is love of friends. If every one is nullified before his friend and mingles with him, they become one mass, where all the little parts that want the love of others unite in a collective force that consists of many parts. And when he has great strength, he can execute the love of others.
(Article "According to what is explained about Love Thy Friend as Thyself")
The greater the size of the society, the more effective is the power on each friend. In other words, they produce a stronger atmosphere of greatness and importance of the Creator. At that time, each person's body feels that he regards anything that he wishes to do for holiness-meaning to bestow upon the Creator-as a great fortune, that he has been privileged with being among people who have been rewarded with serving the king. At that time, every little thing he does fills him with joy and pleasure.
(Article "The Agenda of the Assembly")
Each of the friends needs to try and bring to all life spirit, hopes and stimulation. So each will overcome his disappointment from advancement and to reach bestowal, and will receive lively spirit full of hope, and attain security and overcoming strength by the society, with which to reach wholeness.
And what he thought, that he didn't have the strength to conquer the property of bestowal, for the disturbances are powerful, he feels now these disturbances are truly negligible - and all of this he received from each friend from the force of the society, for each tried to enter encouragement and new wind in the society.
(Article "What to demand from an Assembly")
The purpose of the Gathering of Friends needs to be transparent to all, so the result will be that each friend will awaken to love the other, which is called "love of others". And they must talk of this.
(Article "What to demand from an Assembly")
"Counters' envy increases wisdom." In other words, when all the friends look at the society as being at a high level, both in thoughts and in actions, it is natural that each and every one must raise his degree to a higher level than he has by the qualities of his own body.
(Article "Concerning Above Reason")
"One does not deliver oneself from imprisonment." Rather, it is one's friend who can uplift his spirit.
This means that one's friend uplifts him from his state into a state of livelihood. Then one begins to acquire confidence and wealth once more in life, and he begins as though his goal is now near him.
(Article "They Helped Every One His Friend")
One that sees, how the friends stand on a degree higher than him, helping each other, actualizing the study in action - and sees within reason, he is in a state of lowliness - surely it works on him, and awakens in him the strength to overcome his laziness, otherwise he will remain retarded in the society.
(Article "Concerning Above Reason")
The special virtue in adhesion of friends: by adhesion of friends, the thoughts move from one to another, and each is included from the forces of everyone, of the whole society.
(Article "The need for Love of Friends")
If one has love of friends, he sees the virtues of his friends and not their deficiencies. It comes out that if he sees some deficit in his friend, it is a sign that the deficit is with him. Therefore, he needs to see now, not that his friend will correct himself, rather that he himself needs correction.
(Article "The Agenda of the Assembly")
If each will raise the degree of each friend, like he is the greatest of the generation, then the environment will operate on him, like a big environment "for in the multitude of building is more important the multitude of numbers".
(Article "The Agenda of the Assembly")
"The minority of plural is two" - if two friends sit together, and think how to raise the importance of the Creator, they already have the force to receive strengthening in the greatness of the creator in the aspect of their awakening. For on this action later comes awakening from the Creator, which begin to feel the greatness of the Creator".
(Article "The Agenda of the Assembly")
The benefit from the society - that it can bring atmosphere, so there will only be work in order to bestow.
(Article "The Matter of the Importance of the Society")
It's allowed to enjoy, even mandatory to enjoy an act of bestowal. Therefore one should work on one point - give importance to it. And it is expressed with attention to "who am I facing", "who am I speaking to", "who's precepts am I keeping", "who's Torah am I studying" - meaning see advice how to give importance to the Creator.
Before one attains illumination from above, he needs to search for people, similar to him, also searching to enlarge the importance of the Creator, and be in touch with the Creator - and receive assistance from the society.
(Article "The Agenda of the Assembly")
So that there will be inclusion of one in another, each needs to annul himself towards the other, by each seeing the virtues of his friend and not his deficit. But whoever thinks, he is higher than the friends, he cannot unite with them.
(Article "The Purpose of the Society")
Every student needs to feel himself the smallest of the friends - and then he will be able to receive from them appreciation of the elation from all. For only the small one is impressed from the big one.
(Article "The Agenda of the Assembly")
As he sees the friends in a higher state than him - it causes him elation.
(Article "The Matter of Above Reason")
People that agreed to unite in one group, understood there is no distancing of opinions between them, and understand the necessity in love of others. Therefore each will be able to concede for the sake of others. And will be able to unite for this.
(Article "About Love of Friends")
From people gathering in one opinion, that they need to reach love of others and as there is annulment of each towards the other, then each is included from everyone. And through this a great force is accumulated with each individual, according to the size of the society, and then he has in his strength to execute in action love of others practically.
(Article "According to what is explained about Love Thy Friend as Thyself")
Righteous - in that he wants to uphold the rule of "love thy friend as thyself", so as all his intention to exit self love and take on himself the nature of love of others.
(Article "According to what is explained about Love Thy Friend as Thyself")
Practical Advice for Connection from Baal HaSulam
If one doesn’t have the desire for spirituality, but is between people with a desire for spirituality, he takes their force of overcoming and desires and ambitions. And according to the importance he gives these people, he receives new forces.
Do according to your strength and the Creator's salvation will be like a blink of an eye. And the main thing before you today is unity of friends. Exert in this more and more, for in it there is payment for all the deficiencies. (Wise Fruit. Letters, 48)

-
I arranged for you orders, through which you're capable, in any hand to hold on without veering backwards, and the special thing in them is the adherence in friends. And if you were to strengthen in this thing, surely you would be pacing from success to success in the ascents of Holiness. (Wise Fruit, letters, 140)
-
I will remind you the validity of love of friends, in which depends our right to exist, and through which we measure our approximating success. Therefore, turn away from all the imaginary dealings, and give attention to think thoughts and invent true inventions, to connect your hearts truly in one heart. And the written "love thy friend as yourself" will simply take place in you.
(Wise Fruit, letters, 144)
-
The salvaged by the Creator is not salvaged other that needed for salvation today. And those that can wait for tomorrow, will attain his brains after his years. And this happened to you due to your neglect in my request for you to effort in love of friends, which I explained to you in all seventy tongues; it is enough in this virtue to complete all your lacks.
(Wise Fruit, letters, 55)
-
I ask of you to exert in love of friends, invent inventions to increase in love of friends, and cancel from yourself the lust of body concepts. For this projects hatred. And in those who do satisfaction to the Creator no hatred will be depicted. On the contrary, mercy and love is between them.
(Wise Fruit, letters, 53)
-
Begin to love each other with all your might, like yourself, and be sorrowful for the friend's sorrow, and happy in the friend's joy, as much as possible.
(Wise Fruit, letters, 145)

-
If one does not have any desire and craving for spirituality, if he is among people who have a desire for spirituality, if he likes these people, he, too, will take their strength to prevail, and their desires and aspirations, although by his own quality, he does not have these desires and cravings and the power to overcome. But according to the grace and the importance he ascribes to these people, he will receive new powers.
(Shamati, article 99, "He did not say wicked of righteous")
-
One cannot raise oneself above one's circle. Hence, one must suck from one's environment. And one has no other counsel, except through much work and Torah. Therefore, if one chooses for oneself a good environment, one saves time and efforts, since one is drawn according to one's environment.
(Shamati, article 225, "Raising oneself)
-
It should be known that there are many Holy sparks in each of the friends, and in collecting all the Holy sparks in to one place, in brotherhood, love and friendship, surely you will have a very important level of Holiness.
(Wise Fruit, letters, 55)
The Freedom
Freedom of the desire
Does one have freedom, meaning that he can operate according to his choice to his free desire.
As
we observe that actions of the individual, we find then necessary, that
he executes them inevitably because he is operated from pleasure or
suffering. And he has no choice to choose suffering or reject pleasure.
Man
is ahead of the beast in being prepared to receive upon himself
suffering for a distant goal, but there is no choice in this too, only a
simple calculation. Because the governance leads every person to the
goal without asking him, through pleasure and suffering. The types of
pleasure are determined by the society, one is enslaved in all his
motions, and operates only according to tastes of the environment.
What
comes out of this is that if there is no freedom to the desire, then
one isn't at one's authority. If one is not the owner of the action,
doing not what he wants to, rather what the environment dictates to him,
therefore there is no reward and punishment.

The influence of the environment
One is necessarily a given in the environment, for the platform develops in contact with the environment.
The environment as a factor
You can always add in the choosing of the environment - friends, books, teachers.
One's
future is dependent on the choice of environment. There is freedom to
the desire to choose in advance an environment - books and instructors,
which influence good thoughts. One will be punished not due to thoughts
and bad actions, which he has no choice over, rather for not choosing to
be in a good environment, for in it there is choice.
He
who efforts in his life to always choose a better environment - is
worthy of reward, not thanks to his thoughts and good deeds, which come
to him inevitably without his choice, but due to his effort to acquire a
good environment, which brings him to the thoughts and good actions.
The obligation in choosing a good environment
Only
in choosing the environment one's control over his destiny is
estimated, however after he chose the environment, he is in their hands
like clay in the hands of the Creator, and uses the mind of others like
his own.
The general form of the bearers isn't lost
The
platform comes from the learning's of the previous incarnations in the
form of tendencies and instincts, without knowing why he does so.
The obligation of keeping the individual's freedom
Therefore there is a forbiddance to destroy any tendency, for it won't occur in another body.
General
Every individual was created as part of a society, always at the service of society.
There Is None Else besides Him
We always need to think about the true state that we are in. a state where we are all connected in a single system. We have no choice; we are included, dependent, and exist in this, and it is rather desirable for us to discover it ourselves, in our desires. Therefore everyone in the world needs to connect together; only this way can we reach harmony with nature, with the Creator, and come to wholeness. The most important thing is to connect to the source, and then everything will turn upside down to the opposite direction, in the positive direction, and we will all follow accordingly
From a Kabbalah convention lesson in St. Louis, MO, November 2008
By: Dr. Michael Laitman
The upper force is one and it operates everything. It spins us on the inside and arranges for us the entire surrounding that appears to us on the outside. As it is written: "There Is None Else besides Him." One may mistakenly think that there is another force, and that is because he can't reveal the true shape of reality.
A person exists entirely with the whole world, all the groups, the friends, all of reality, the universe, with countless galaxies and the stars, and with infinite distances. And all of that is only a very limited dimension compared to the second dimension called "Creator," which surrounds us from all directions and transfers all of our operation forces through us, so that truly - "There is none else besides Him."
The purpose of this force is to bring us to unison with Him. Connecting doesn't mean to speak, to hug; it's not the kind of connection that we are familiar with in this world. To connect in spirituality means to have the same qualities, to be in the same state. In other words, my desire, my intention, my passion, my yearning, are in fact what I create from within myself.
Although it's a matter of two different desires, the "will to receive" can be like the Creator's "will to bestow" by modifying our intention. Even though the matter is a desire to enjoy, if the matter's intention to receive pleasure is in order to satisfy the giver, then they are both equal. We often see this in reality in various situations. For instance, when a person wants to do good to another and gives him a present, and the receiver wants to do good to the giver, then he needs to show the giver that he is enjoying the present, and then they are both enjoying. It doesn't matter who the receiver and the giver are, but rather, what's important is the inner, spiritual connection between them.
That's how we need to reach that state, that connection with the Creator, because then will we become like Him. It doesn't matter what substance I am made of; if I act like the Creator, then according to that we become closer to one another, as it is written, "I am for my beloved, and His desire is focused on me." So, in such unity called "adhesion," there's no difference between the Creator and the creature, but rather they are together as one.
The name of that phenomenon called upper force is called "Creator," from the words Bo (come) and Reh (see), come and discover. A person can come and reveal from within his qualities. Out of the quality of love and bestowal that I develop, I will discover this quality inside myself, and that is called "Bo and Reh." Come and see, and discover for yourself what "Creator" is.
The breaking of the souls had happened in order to allow us to search for that upper force that is inside of us, and that is through developing the quality of love and bestowal. The upper force operates in others and we need to find it; we need to connect to that force by developing the quality of love and bestowal.
In order to reveal that force which we neither see nor know, we have been given the option of developing an attitude toward others as the one we have for ourselves - an approach to others that is identical to the approach toward the Creator that exists inside of me. And then, the more I connect to others - meaning, to the degree that the whole world, the still, the vegetative and the animate become as one for me, as "me" myself - the more I begin to discover the Creator that is inside of me, only then is He revealed. "Come and see" - this force rises within me and I discover it.
Kabbalists had discovered this law back in the days of Adam HaRishon, 5,772 years ago, and that is what they instructed us to do in order to attain the revelation of the Creator. And that is what we attempt to do in our groups, exactly as they had done over thousands of generations.
The interesting and unique thing about the current state in our world now, is that the entire world must reach it. Every single person, and it doesn't matter who or what he is, all 7 billion people must start moving towards the Creator. Everyone needs to connect to the Creator, to reveal Godliness, to reveal the state of wholeness, giving and love, and that is what we see today. The world is beginning to receive a collective blow.
The entire process that humanity has gone through so far, is in fact all blows and suffering. But now is the time for everyone to unite. Everyone needs to reach adhesion with the Creator, and therefore the Creator is wakening us through a general blow. From now on, as the wisdom of Kabbalah had already stated thousands of years ago, the blows will be systematic.
We know this from the story about Egypt. The story in the Torah that speaks about Egypt is the true story which accurately describes our current state today. Prior to the Exodus, people had lived ordinary lives, and then Pharaoh's infamous ten blows started. "Pharaoh" is the general ego, and life before the general ego is revealed is the life in Egypt.
Once the time to leave Egypt comes, every person knows that he needs to get rid of his ego and rise above it, and then a general trouble is revealed - ten blows upon all of Egypt, upon the will to receive. Everybody undergoes general massive changes, and that's what's going to happen from now on all over the world.
Those blows won't stop. But this can change, if we go through this process in the path of Light and not in the path of suffering. We shouldn't count the blows; one must always yearn for good, to the right and not to the left. But according to what's revealed in the world, now is only the beginning of the first blow, "money," and this is the blow that is clear to everyone, because it influences everything. Famine, security, familial relations, affiliations between countries, wars, and what not; everything in fact depends on this foundation, on this infrastructure called "money."
In Hebrew, "money" (kesef) comes from the word kisufa (covering), concealment. Money covers things. Kesef also derives from the word masach (screen); when I give money it's like exerting efforts, and in return I can receive something back. This is the first blow, and we will speak and learn about it in more depth over the next several months. Once it's revealed, we will see how unique it is, and very basic.
This blow is only the first blow among a series of blows that is yet to come. The purpose of all those blows is to pressure us to come out of our ego, to get rid of it, to rise above it, and that's what is called escaping from Egypt. "Egypt" (Mitzrayim) is called mitz-rah ("evil-fluid"); it's a concentration of all the evil.
The faster we rush to reveal what goes on in the world today, the easier it will be for us to get through those blows. We will need to get through them, but we may experience them in our thoughts only, in understanding. When a blow is revealed and I'm aware of it, I'm happy that it is revealed because it points in the direction of my advancement, and then I don't see it as a blow but rather as help, support, connection. On the other hand, if I don't wish to understand, then I start feeling as if this force is against me, and then it spears as the plagues of Egypt, and it can destroy our world completely. As we see throughout history since those plagues, Egypt never rose.
All prime ministers, all the great people, the sages, say, "the world is new." At least they are discovering this, as they understand that the old laws are no longer valid as they were before.
All of this is happening because the Creator is "landing" upon the world; this "one" force wishes to enter our system, but since our system is not as "one," then there is no harmony. We are dispersed like cogwheels that are disconnected from one another, and He lands upon us as "one," so we are not matching. Had we been connected to one another, then the Creator's force against our force would work properly, in accord: the single operating force, inside the one single creature.
Since we are dispersed - not connected properly to one another, living in hatred, repulsion, operated by the desire for honor and control - then when the Creator descends to this world and reveals Himself more, we feel bad. It truly comes to us as a blow, darkness, pressure, something that I don't want, a really horrible descent. All of this is happening simply because we are no in harmony with one another.
We are not speaking about Kabbalah as a wisdom that is connected to religion. We are speaking about the Creator, the single force that is revealed to everyone in the world right now. The wisdom of Kabbalah is revealed as the new physical force in the world. Bankers these days shout that there's something new in the banking system, in humanity, in the relationships between us. They don't say it because one is Christian and one is Muslim, but rather because they see it manifesting in their own lives. New things are revealed, a new force between people that completely defies all the previous laws. The Creator wants to be revealed more among people - the force of bestowal is revealed more and more from within humanity - and we are right between those two forces (receiving and giving), between two operating systems that don't match, and that's what is revealed to us right now. We are talking about a physical force that is actually revealed to us.
The wisdom of Kabbalah is a science, not faith, and not Judaism, and Adam HaRishon had already discovered it 5,772 years ago. Judaism did not exist back then. Later on it was Abraham, one of the Babylonians, who discovered the wisdom of Kabbalah.
Judaism had started only 2,000 years ago, like Christianity and Islam; religions have been around for 2,000 years, whereas the wisdom of Kabbalah existed 5,772 years ago. The Creator's revelation to the creature had first happened to Adam HaRishon, an ordinary person like us called "Adam," who lived 5,772 years ago. From his time onward we begin our timeline, because it marks the beginning of man's correction. Therefore, this process has nothing to do with religions whatsoever, but rather, we are speaking about a wisdom that is a method of revealing Godliness in an efficient and positive way, in a conscious way. We need to move towards it, instead of waiting for the blows to force us to reveal.
We can sit and wait, and to never discover anything, but then the blows and troubles themselves will lead us in that direction. As Baal HaSulam writes in "Free Will": there is the path of Light, by which we can reach the goal ourselves, and there is the path of suffering, which is advancing according to nature, as we've advanced so far throughout history. Humanity has moved from one state to another by all sorts of blows, and all kinds of problems, and we can keep on developing this way. But if we do then we can anticipate famine and wars, but not wars like those in the past, but it is clear that this time they would be atomic wars.
The reason for the blow is the world needs to connect "like one man in one heart," the whole world is a small village and the higher power requires us to connect. Not only do we see this within the wisdom of Kabbalah, but we see it everywhere. Biologists compare it to the function of the human body, in the way that our body functions harmoniously internally, this is the way that we are intended to live. if we want to be in harmony, in one system, we need to connect. Now even the economists are now saying that we need to reach such a state, who would have conceived that they would utter such words? For this reason we are conveying something very logical, today it really makes sense, this is the cause of all that is happening around us.
Nobody has free will, we are all like puppets on a string, the thing is that this is hidden from us, once a person realizes that he is an integral part of the entire system, only then does he have free will.
We do not eliminate ourselves, we eliminate our animalistic mind, in order for us to reach our divine mind. The wisdom of Kabbalah does not tell us to eat less, to sleep less, or to do less, it explains how we are operated in this world by our corporeal desires, what is referred to as our "belly" the desire to be fulfilled, and in our mind - how to fulfill ourselves more and more, if you want to reach this divinity, you need to create new desires and mind, the desire for divinity, for bestowal, and the mind to help you reach this. You do not need to eliminate your old desires and your old mind. Start to work with the desire for divinity and with your divine mind and your corporeal desires will be used out of necessity.
Here there it isn't the case of cancelling one-self out. A person doesn't need to eliminate himself. It needs to be done exclusively by the reforming light, in that you desire to find the creator. We do not pressure ourselves, we do not suppress ourselves, we do not deal with boundaries and fasting nothing of this nature. On the contrary - we engage in the good and the most positive in order to attain a higher degree, and then the lower degree itself takes the shape that it's supposed to, if we make the choice and pull ourselves along with all of humanity toward this great goal. The Prophets have not written about it because this is our free choice.
Peace In The World
Good and Bad Are Evaluated by the Actions of the Individual toward Society
This means that the corrupt conducts in the states of humanity are the very ones that generate the good states. And each good state is nothing but the fruit of the work in the bad state that preceded it.
We appreciate the attribute of evil of each and every individual only according to the harm one inflicts upon the public in general, and not by one's own individual value.
And the new state, too, lasts just as long as the sparks of evil in it ripen and reach such a level that they can no longer be tolerated, at which time it must be destroyed and a more comfortable state is built in its stead. And so the states clear up one by one and degree by degree until they come to such a corrected state that there will be no sparks of evil.
By harnessing the wisdom of Kaballa, the force which draws us to the purpose of creation is revealed, and it pulls us after it by our consent and love. Without sorrow and agony.
When, for example, one moves one's hand from the chair to the table, it is because one thinks that by putting his hand on the table he will enjoy it more. If he did not think so, he would leave his hand on the chair for the rest of his life without moving it at all. It is all the more so with greater efforts.
There is absolutely no cure for humankind except in taking upon themselves the commandment of providence, namely bestowal upon one's fellow person in order to bring contentment to the Creator.
The measure of work to bestow upon others for the happiness of society should be no less than the measure imprinted in man to care for his own needs. Moreover, he should put his fellow person's needs before his own.
Love of the Creator - This is the goal that must be before one's eyes as he works to bestow and fulfill the spiritual needs of others. He exerts himself only to attain the love of the Creator.
As long as the Love of Self prevails between nations, even he who wishes to attain the love of the Creator cannot attain it in its perfected state, because he cannot fully keep the Mitzva of bestowal to others.
Purpose Of Society - Baruch Shalom Ashlag (The Rabash)
Basic Principles extracted from foundation articles by Baal Hasulam and the Rabash. These are the corner-stone articles which will form the conceptual basis for all activities in the convention - Preparation is everything!
Purpose of Society (1984, #1.1)
We have gathered here to establish a society for all who wish to follow the path and method of Baal HaSulam, the way by which to climb the degrees of man, and not remain as a beast, as our sages said (Yevamot, 61a) about the verse, "And ye My sheep, the sheep of My pasture, are men." And Rashbi said, "You are called ‘men,' and idol worshipers are not called ‘men.'"
What is "Fear of God", for which the world was created?
From all the words of our sages, we learn that the reason for Creation was to do good to His creations. This means that the Creator wished to delight the creatures so they would feel happy in the world. But the creatures do not receive the delight and pleasure, even though it is the reason for Creation, due to the disparity of form between the Creator and the creatures. The Creator is the giver and the creatures are the receivers.
And to correct that, the world had to be created. Olam (world) means He'elem (concealment), so that man would fear using his vessels of reception, called "self love." This means that one should prevent oneself from receiving pleasures because one craves them, and should have the strength to prevail over the craving , and instead, only receive pleasures that bring contentment to the Creator.
This means that the creature will have fear of the Creator, of receiving for oneself, for this distances him from the creator.
Therefore, when performing any act, one should aim that this Mitzva will bring pure thoughts, that he will bestow upon the Creator.
And this is why we gather here-to establish a society where each of us follows the spirit of bestowing upon the Creator. And to achieve bestowal upon the Creator, we must begin with bestowal upon man, which is called "love of others."
The love of others can only be with revoking one's self. Thus, on the one hand, each person should feel lowly, and on the other hand, be proud that the Creator has given us the chance to be in a society where each of us has but a single goal: for Divinity to be among us.
Concerning Love of Friends
Article No 3, 1984
What is the need for the love of friends? What is the reason that I chose these particular friends? Does each of the friends have to reveal his love for the society, or is it enough to have love in one's heart?
One must disclose the love in his heart towards the friends, since by revealing it he evokes his friends' hearts toward the friends so they, too, would feel that each of them is practicing love of friends.
However, if each of them does not show the society that he is practicing love of friends, then one lacks the force of the group. This is so because it is very hard to judge one's friend to a scale of merit. Each one thinks that he is righteous and that only he engages in love of friends. In that state, one has very little strength to practice love of others. Thus, this work, specifically, should be public and not concealed.
But one must always remind oneself of the purpose of the society.
We must remember that the society was established solely on the basis of achieving love of others, and that this would be the springboard for the love of God.
This is achieved specifically by saying that one needs a society so as to be able to give to one's friend without any reward. Therefor, he is in a society established on the basis of love of others, so each member would receive from the group the love of others and hatred of himself.
Thus, if the society is made of ten members, for example, each will have ten forces practicing self-annulment, hatred of self, and love of others.
If the friends practice love of others in concealment, each friend loses his strength in his desire to walk the path of loving others, for he learns from their actions and falls into the dominion of self-love.
They Helped Every One His Friend
Article No 4, 1984
how can one help another?
By seeing that one's friend is low and uplifting him from his state into a state of livelihood. Then one begins to acquire confidence once more, as though his goal is now near him.
Each and every one must pay attention and think, how he can help his friend, uplift his spirit, because regarding one's spirit, anyone can find a lack in one's friend, which he can fulfill.
Purpose of Society (1984, #1.2)
Since man is created with a Kli called "self-love," where one does not see that an act will yield self-benefit, one has no motivation to make even a tiny movement. And without annulling self-love, it is impossible to achieve Dvekut (adhesion) with the Creator, meaning equivalence of form.
Since annulling self-love is against our nature, we need a society that will form a great force so we can work together on annulling the will to receive, called "evil," as it hinders the achievement of the goal for which man was created.
For this reason, society must consist of individuals who unanimously agree that they must annul self-love. Then, all the individuals become one great force that can fight the evil in each individual.
What Does the Rule "Love Thy Friend as Thyself" Give Us?
Article No 5, 1984
Through this law, we can come to love the Creator.
The law, "Love thy friend as thyself," is built on 612 Mitzvot. In other words, if we keep the 612 Mitzvot, we will be able to achieve the law, "Love thy friend as thyself.", and through the love of friends, we can come to love the Creator.
One cannot keep all 612 Mitzvot alone, as they do not match his desires.
But by uniting together by the law of mutual responsibility, we find that our needs combine and each of us now has 612 desires. Then we can keep the 612 Mitzvot.
Love of Friends (1984, #6)
Article No 6, 1984
One may wander aimlessly through life, not knowing which deeds bring him to the side of goodness. And so he does not achieve anything good in his life. Which deeds, exactly, grant a blessing from the creator, so that he may reach goodness?
Man does not know the true path which leads to the goal which he must attain.
But only joining a group which sets before it the love of friends as a goal, he may reach the creator. Because the love of friends, where the friends help each other, is key to acquiring a second nature, Bestowal.
And though through this work they find that they do not wish to unite, by their efforts their true nature is revealed to them. That they are in spiritual Diaspora.
One may only return from Diaspora by uniting with a group. Together they set their goal, the love of friends, and are rewarded with heavenly light, which confers upon then the ability to escape their egoistic nature.
Concerning the Importance of Society
Article No. 12, 1984
Since people's thoughts mingle, and the views of those who oppose the path of truth permeate those with some desire to walk on the path of truth, there is no other counsel but to establish a separate society for themselves, to be their framework, meaning a separate community that does not mingle with other people whose views differ from that society. And they should constantly evoke in themselves the issue of the purpose of society, so they will not follow the majority, because following the majority is our nature.
They have no connection with other people in regard to spiritual matters, and their contact with them is only on corporeal matters, they do not mingle with their views, since they have no connection in matters of religion.
In matters of work on the path of truth, one should isolate oneself from other people. This is because the path of truth requires constant strengthening, since it is against the view of the world. If one strays from that, he immediately forgets all the work of the path of truth and falls into a world of self-love.
Only from a society in the form of "They helped every man his friend" does each person in the society receives the strength to fight against the view of the world. Therefore, he who wishes to attain spirituality, must distance himself from the influence of those who are opposite to this goal.
The Peace
The essence of the spiritual law is the love of others, which may also be termed "bestowal"
Necessity to Practice Caution with the Laws of Nature
Since Providence extends from the Creator, who undoubtedly has a purpose in His actions, there is no act without a purpose. And so we find that anyone who breaks a law from the laws of nature that He has imprinted in us corrupts the purposeful aim, and will be punished by nature.
What matters the difference whether Providence is termed 'Nature', and lacks purpose, or if it is wise, benevolent and purposeful?
Either way we are bound to the keeping it's laws, and we all readily admit that he who violates the laws of providence, or the laws of nature, is deserving of punishment.
His Providence has commanded us to keep with all our might the Mitzva of bestowal upon others in utter precision, in such a way that no member from among us would work any less than the measure required to secure the happiness of society and its success. And as long as we are idle performing it to the fullest, nature will not stop punishing us and take its revenge. And besides the blows we suffer today, we must also consider the drawn sword for the future. The right conclusion must be drawn—that nature will ultimately defeat us and we will all be compelled to join hands in following its Mitzvot with all the measure required of us.
The Wheel of Transformation (The Peace)
Although we see the bodies changing from generation to generation, this is only the case with the bodies. But the souls, which are the essence of the body’s self, do not vanish, to be replaced, but move from body to body, from generation to generation. The same souls that were at the time of the flood came also during the time of Babylon, etc., until this generation and until the end of correction.
Therefore, with regard to the souls, all generations since the beginning of Creation to the end of correction are as one generation that has extended its life over several thousand years, until it developed and became corrected as it should be. And the fact that in the meantime each has changed its body several thousand times is completely irrelevant, because the essence of the body’s self, called "the soul," did not suffer at all by these changes.
The Giving Of The Torah
Abridged Version
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Rabbi Akiva says this is the main
(general) law of the Torah.
1. The word “general” indicates a sum of particulars that create the whole together. Thus, if “love your neighbor as yourself” is the main law of the Torah, then the rest 612 commandments of the Torah are its particulars. But how can this determine the relationship between man and the Creator, which is the purpose of the Torah?
2. An even greater difficultly is posed by what Hillel says about the Torah, that the whole Torah can be learned while standing on one leg because all of it amounts to not doing to another what you yourself hate. From this it is clear that the whole Torah is the law, “love your neighbor as yourself.” And the entire Torah is intended only to explain how to realize love for the neighbor because without it, it would be impossible to “love the neighbor as yourself.”
3. “As yourself” obligates you to satisfy the needs of every person just as you always make sure to satisfy your own needs, which is impossible.
4. And to prefer another’s needs to your own. But is there any possibility of doing this?
5. Why was the Torah given only to the nation of Israel? How are we to understand the verse that the Creator offered it to all the nations, but none of them accepted it? Why was the nation of Israel named “the chosen nation,” as it is written, “You were chosen by the Creator,” after none of the nations wanted the Torah? And how and when did the Creator offer his Torah to the nations of the world?
6. The Torah and the commandments were given to attain the goal, the revelation of God’s greatness. And this attainment is revealed in creation as a sensation of pleasure that constantly grows, by virtue of which it rises to unity with the Creator until it attains total perfection.
7. Why didn’t He initially create man in all of the desired greatness so he could unite with the Creator? Why did He burden us with the obligation to labor, to attain greatness by our own efforts? 8. This is similar to a rich man who wanted to give everything to his poor friend. But he could not correct his shame, and the poor man corrected his shame through his own efforts and became like his wealthy friend.
9. This is a law of nature which awakens shame in us when we receive charity from someone. Everything contained in the Creator and descending from Him to us directly is attractive and pleasant to us, while everything that is not inherent to Him and does not come from Him directly is difficult for us to tolerate. That is why we love rest and hate movement; why we love wisdom, bravery, and wealth, and hate foolishness, weakness, and poverty.
10. This is why we feel shame when we receive something from others in the form of charity - since the Creator does not contain even a hint of reception, since from whom could He possibly receive? And vice-versa, we experience pleasure by giving to others because this is present in the Creator since He bestows to all.
11. The goal of creation is “adhesion with Him,” which we have to attain ourselves. We have to reach this equivalence of form with our Maker because every pleasure naturally comes from Him. Thus, our entire hope depends and is founded on the degree of our qualities’ similarity to our root.
12. A person is born with love for himself impressed inside of him, and all of his movement occurs around himself without any sparks of bestowal to the neighbor. This distances him from the Creator. And if he receives lessons of “bestowal to the neighbor” from his environment in order to receive a reward in this world or in the world to come, this is called Lishma. And when he grows up, he reveals how to carry out the commandments Lishma, which is a special intention of only giving pleasure to the Creator. It happens by virtue of the opportunity contained in engaging in the Torah and commandments for the sake of the Creator, according to the verse, “I created the evil inclination and I created the Torah as a remedy.” He loses his egoistic love and does everything only for the sake of bestowal, and even his bare necessities are intended only for him to be able to bestow.
13. Two attitudes - to the Creator and to man - are both intended to bring creation to the goal, adhesion with the Creator. When he does something for the Creator, he does not feel any difference in his actions between whether he works for love for the friend or for love for the Creator. That’s because anything that is beyond the boundaries of his body is considered empty and completely unreal.
14. Before he attains bestowal, any action for the sake of the neighbor, whether for the sake of a person or for the sake of the Creator, is felt as empty and useless. However, by means of great efforts, he rises to a second nature. And then he immediately merits the final goal, adhesion with the Creator. Bestowal to the neighbor is able to bring him to bestowal to the Creator because it is close and fast to reveal, guarded from mistakes, and there are witnesses to it.
15. Therefore, “love your neighbor as yourself” includes all the corrections with regard to the Creator as well.
16. This is why the Torah was given after the exodus from Egypt to the entire nation, after every one of them was asked and agreed with his entire heart and soul and said, “We shall do and we shall hear.” Then they were able to carry out the whole Torah because it went from being unattainable to possible. That’s because 600,000 people get rid of self-love and make sure that their friend won’t lack anything, and they work on this with great love. Therefore, it’s clear that a person has no cares about his own existence. And he becomes free to carry out “love your neighbor as yourself.”
17. From the above we can understand why “the entire nation of Israel is responsible for one another.” At first it seems completely unfair because if someone sins, the Creator collects that person’s debt from you. And Rabbi Elazar, son of Rabbi Shimon, says that the whole world is responsible for one another. And every person adds a merit or a sin to the whole world with his actions.
All of Israel are guarantors to one another Arvut (Mutual Guarantee) - is that all of Israel became guarantors to each other.
The Torah is only given when each individual from Israel agreed to take upon himself "love thy friend like yourself".
Love thy friend like yourself - to care for each of the nation and fill all his needs like he cares for himself.
If the entire nation agreed, they became guarantors, that nothing would be lacking to any citizen, and are then worthy of receiving the Torah, for by the mutual guarantee each individual is ridden from his worries for his self needs, and can keep the love of others, for he no longer is concerned with the keeping of himself, and is sure, that everyone is standing with love to care for him.

The Torah can't be received prior to the exit from Egypt. Rather until they become a nation, in which each is assured of all his needs.
And in Egypt they are in self love, and in this manner can't care for his friend. For in this state also his fried cares for the needs of himself and can't care for his friend. If Israel keeps the mutual guarantee, they can give comfort to the Creator.
If a part of Israel doesn't want to keep the mutual guarantee, and are embossed in self love, they cause the rest of the nation to remain in their filth.
18. Mutual guarantee is similar to two in a ship, in which one drills a hole underneath him, they both drown, and doesn't give the other to begin in "love thy friend as thy self", and reach adhesion with the Creator, and they are both lost.
19. Rabbi Eliezer says the whole world enters the mutual guarantee. Only the Israeli nation begins the correction of the world, because from the size of their ego they don't agree to retire from self love. Due to the forefathers rights, from which the height of their souls kept the love of others without the prior ladder actions, which they didn't have the option to keep at all. And it is found, that only the nation of Israel entered the mutual guarantee.
20. Although, the final correction of the world, will be in entering all of humanity in the adhesion with the Creator. And the role of Israel towards the whole world is similar to the role of the forefathers towards the nation of Israel. It is upon the Israeli nation through the dealing with love of others to prepare themselves and the nations of the world for work in love of others, in order to reach adhesion. For each act of bestowal for the sake of bringing comfort to the Creator works for the development of the nations of the world, to the degree in which they will be able to tip the merit of all the nations of the world to the desired purity, and move them to the side of merit.
21. The role of the Israeli nation is to train the world for the certain purification, so they will be able to receive love of others like Israel. And each gives a part in the decision, so each individual from Israel subjects the whole world to the side of merit.
22. The feeling of impression in influence to the Creator is totally equal to that with his friend, if it is without reward. And here love of the Creator and love of others are connected to one. And he performs in advancement of love of others in the entire world. And if he can't overcome his self love, he tips his scale that of the whole world to the side of debit.
23. The purpose of creation is appointed to all of humankind together, however from the descent of the nature of the creatures to self love without Egypt for all of humanity, you can't explain to them, in which they agreed to exit the narrow ego to the wide world of love of others, other that the nation of Israel, which through the purification of the forefathers and the suffering of enslavement in Egypt, became qualified for connection "against the mountain", "as one man in one heart", because each individual removed himself from self love, in a trend only to benefit his friend, for only then they were qualified for reception of the Correcting Light.
24. Therefore the Torah was specifically given to the nation of Israel. Although because of this the nation of Israel was made as sort of a passage, with which sparks of purification will flow through it to all humankind in this world, until they will develop to understand the serenity of love of others.
The Creator said: "And you kept my covenant, and you were a virtue from all nations, you will be a kingdom of priests and holy people". The nation said, "We will do". But the work and its reward are not discerned, as they then agree.
27. The Creator offers work in Torah and precepts and reward. The work in Torah and precepts is to be like priests: in which no person has any physical acquirement in the land, for the Creator is his providence. And to keep the Creator's precepts, and fill all the others needs, so he won't worry for his needs. All this work of filling others is like the work of the priests in the Temple, as it approximates one to the Creator. and all of this in order to reach adhesion with the Creator.
The work: "A nation of priests", which is the work of "love thy friend like thy self".
The reward: "Holy nation", which is in adhesion.
28. "Be the virtue for me": for through you the sparks of purification for the ego of the nations of the world will move, one nation needs to be the virtue to all the nations, and bring the nations of the world to adhesion.
