{"id":10058,"date":"2025-11-27T20:05:28","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T20:05:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.kabbalah.info\/?post_type=book&#038;p=10058"},"modified":"2025-11-27T20:08:28","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T20:08:28","slug":"these-are-the-names","status":"publish","type":"book","link":"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/en\/these-are-the-names\/","title":{"rendered":"These Are the Names"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>1) \u201cAnd the enlightened will glow as the radiance of the firmament.\u201d The enlightened are those who gaze at the wisdom they have attained, since wisdom is called \u201cthe light of the eyes\u201d and attaining it is called \u201clooking.\u201d Why does it not say, \u201cWill shine\u201d? It means that they shine and sparkle in the brightness of the upper&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>&nbsp;[wisdom]. They cannot attain the actual upper&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>, but only from&nbsp;<em>Bina<\/em>&nbsp;that returned to being&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>&nbsp;through her return to the&nbsp;<em>Rosh<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>AA<\/em>. This is considered only the glow of the upper&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>, which is considered as mere glow and not as the actual light of&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is why it is written, \u201cWill glow,\u201d and it is not written \u201cWill shine.\u201d \u201cAs the radiance\u201d means the illumination and sparkling of the river that stretches out of Eden,&nbsp;<em>Bina<\/em>, that emerged from&nbsp;<em>Rosh<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>AA<\/em>, which is&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>, called \u201cEden,\u201d who became&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>&nbsp;when she returned to&nbsp;<em>Rosh<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>AA<\/em>. And the&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>&nbsp;in her is considered as only the glow of the&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>. This is why it is written about her, \u201cAs the radiance,\u201d as in brightness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This this the meaning of the firmament, the screen of the second restriction, which takes&nbsp;<em>Bina<\/em>&nbsp;out of the&nbsp;<em>Rosh<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>AA<\/em>&nbsp;through its ascent to her place. It also brings her back to&nbsp;<em>Rosh<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>AA<\/em>&nbsp;through his return below to the place of&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>Rosh<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>AA<\/em>. \u201cLike the radiance of the firmament\u201d are the vessels and the&nbsp;<em>Mochin<\/em>&nbsp;that appear through the firmament, since the stars are in it, meaning&nbsp;<em>GAR<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>Mochin<\/em>, as well as the signs, which is&nbsp;<em>VAK<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>Mochin<\/em>, the sun, which is&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>, and the moon, which is&nbsp;<em>Nukva<\/em>. And all these candles that shine are all the lights in&nbsp;<em>BYA<\/em>, since all the lights in the four worlds&nbsp;<em>ABYA<\/em>&nbsp;emerge on the screen of the second restriction, called \u201cfirmament.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2) The radiance of this firmament shines in its illumination on the garden,&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>. The tree of life,&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>, stands in the middle of the garden, in the middle line, with its branches\u2014<em>Sefirot<\/em>\u2014covering all the forms, which are the&nbsp;<em>Nefashot<\/em>&nbsp;[souls], and the trees, which are the&nbsp;<em>Ruchot<\/em>&nbsp;[spirits]<em>,<\/em>&nbsp;and the perfumes, which are the&nbsp;<em>Neshamot<\/em>&nbsp;[souls (again)] in the garden, in upright vessels, corrected in the three lines. And all the animals of the field\u2014the outer angels\u2014gather in its shade, and all the fowl of the sky\u2014the inner angels\u2014sit under its branches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3) The radiance of the fruits on the tree is the souls that are born from it. It gives life to all and its existence is for all eternity. The other side, of impurity, is not present in it, since the&nbsp;<em>Sitra Achra<\/em>&nbsp;has no nourishment in the tree of life, which is&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<em>Gadlut<\/em>&nbsp;[greatness], but only the side of holiness. Happy are those who taste from it for they live forever and ever, as it is written, \u201cAnd take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever.\u201d They are called \u201cwise\u201d and they are rewarded with life in this world and in the next world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4) The radiance of that tree,&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>, rises to&nbsp;<em>YESHSUT<\/em>, and when it rises to&nbsp;<em>YESHSUT<\/em>, it rises above to&nbsp;<em>AVI<\/em>, which are&nbsp;<em>Bina<\/em>. His march is 500 parasangs [a distance measurement] because he receives&nbsp;<em>HGT<\/em>&nbsp;<em>NH<\/em>&nbsp;from&nbsp;<em>Bina<\/em>, whose numerals are hundreds. However, she has no&nbsp;<em>Yesod<\/em>&nbsp;because&nbsp;<em>Ima<\/em>&nbsp;expands only through&nbsp;<em>Hod<\/em>. And when he rises to&nbsp;<em>AVI<\/em>, where illumination of&nbsp;<em>Atik<\/em>&nbsp;shines, his expansion is 600,000, for&nbsp;<em>Yesod<\/em>&nbsp;spreads in him and he receives&nbsp;<em>HGT<\/em>&nbsp;<em>NHY<\/em>&nbsp;from the illumination of&nbsp;<em>Atik<\/em>, whose digits are 100,000 each, hence he is 600,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is one illumination in that tree:&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>&nbsp;in his&nbsp;<em>Guf<\/em>&nbsp;[body]. All the colors, white, red, and green, which are lights of&nbsp;<em>HGT<\/em>, are in her. These colors rise in direct light and descend in reflected light, and do not settle in any place except for that tree, for it is the middle line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5) When the lights come out of the tree to be seen inside the radiance that does not shine\u2014the general&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>&nbsp;from&nbsp;<em>Chazeh<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>&nbsp;downward, who has&nbsp;<em>ZON<\/em>&nbsp;within herself, which are the small&nbsp;<em>ZON<\/em>, called Jacob and Rachel\u2014the lights intermittently settle and do not settle within her. They are present and absent because they settle nowhere except in that tree, from&nbsp;<em>Chazeh<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>, upwards and is called \u201cIsrael.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Twelve tribes emerge from that tree, and their zones are in it. These are twelve lights, called \u201ctwelve boundaries of the diagonal.\u201d They descended in this radiance, which does not shine, into the exile in Egypt in several high camps, as it is written, \u201cThese are the names of the children of Israel who came to Egypt with Jacob, they came each man with his household.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The verse begins with Israel, as it is written, \u201cThese are the names of the children of Israel,\u201d since the root of the lights of the twelve tribes come from the tree, which is called Israel, from&nbsp;<em>Chazeh<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>&nbsp;upward. It concludes with Jacob, as it is written, \u201cWho came to Egypt with Jacob,\u201d since they have shifted from being Israel into being Jacob, from&nbsp;<em>Chazeh<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>&nbsp;and below, where the twelve lights of the tribes cannot settle. In the words, \u201cWho come to Egypt,\u201d&nbsp;<em>Mitzrayim<\/em>&nbsp;[Egypt] is from the word&nbsp;<em>Metzer<\/em>&nbsp;[oppressing\/pressing]. This is why the Egyptians ruled over them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1) \u201cAnd the enlightened will glow as the radiance of the firmament.\u201d The enlightened are those
