Nile means Torah, and \u201cHer maidens walked along by the Nile\u201d are the nations that are walking and chasing Israel by the Nile because of the affront of Torah, that those who study it have abandoned it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
203) All things in the world depend on repentance and on the prayer that a man prays to the Creator. It is all the more so with one who sheds tears during his prayer, for there is no gate through which these tears do not come. Also, Israel\u2019s redemption depends only on weeping. They will be redeemed when they are completed, and when the tears that Esau cried before his father are through. It is written, \u201cEsau lifted his voice and wept.\u201d These are the tears that brought Israel down to exile.
