Return, Israel \u2013 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cReturn, Israel, unto the Lord your God.\u201d Our sages said, \u201cGreat is repentance, for it reaches unto the throne, as was said \u2018unto the Lord your God\u2019\u201d (<em>Yoma<\/em>&nbsp;86a).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Kisse<\/em>&nbsp;[chair] is from the word&nbsp;<em>Kissui<\/em>&nbsp;[cover] and from the word&nbsp;<em>Kisse<\/em>&nbsp;(see in the \u201cIntroduction of The Book of Zohar\u201d in the&nbsp;<em>Sulam<\/em>&nbsp;[\u201cLadder\u201d commentary on&nbsp;<em>The Zohar<\/em>]). \u201cFor you have failed in your iniquity,\u201d for \u201cOne does not grasp words of Torah unless he has failed in them\u201d (<em>Gitin<\/em>&nbsp;43a). This is so because before one sees that he has failed in the iniquity, it is impossible to repent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTake with you words and return to the Lord. Tell Him, \u2018Take away all iniquity and take good, and we will pay with the bulls of our lips.\u201d \u201cTake with you words and return to the Lord,\u201d meaning that repentance before the Creator must be by saying words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who said to Him, \u201cTake away all iniquity\u201d? These are people who feel that they are carrying iniquities. \u201cTake good\u201d means that they want to receive the good, which is the power of bestowal, as it is written, \u201cMy heart overflows with a good thing; I say, \u2018My work is for the King.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And what should they say when they repent? \u201cAnd we will pay with the bulls of our lips,\u201d for&nbsp;<em>Safah<\/em>&nbsp;[lip] is regarded as the&nbsp;<em>Sof<\/em>&nbsp;[end], meaning the kingdom of heaven.
