57) \u201cAnd many peoples will come and say, \u2018Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob.\u2019\u201d The rest of the peoples are destined to come under the wings of the Shechina. All the idols of the world have a descent, and in one who clings to the Creator, there is ascent. This is why it is written, \u201cCome let us go up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
58) \u201cTo the mountain of the Lord\u201d is Abraham, as it is written, \u201cAs it is said to this day, \u2018In the mount of the Lord it will be provided,\u2019\u201d since Abraham called it a mountain. Like a mountain without an owner, for anyone in the world who wishes, this holy place, the Temple, is to receive anyone in the world who wishes. \u201cTo the house of the God of Jacob\u201d is Jacob, who called that place, \u201ca house,\u201d as it is written, \u201cThis must be the house of God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
59) Mountain and house, although everything is one degree, one is superior to the other. A mountain is for the rest of the peoples when they come to be under its wings. A house is for Israel, to be with them, as a woman with her husband, in one abode in joy, lying over them like a mother over the sons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
60) It is written, \u201cThen Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moses, to the desert.\u201d Since it writes, \u201cTo Moses,\u201d why does it write, \u201cTo the desert\u201d? The most important thing is that Jethro came to the desert. And who is he? He is the mountain of God, which is the place for foreigners to convert. This is why it is written, \u201cTo Moses, to the desert.\u201d \u201cTo Moses\u201d means to convert them and to bring them under the wings of the Shechina.\u201d They were coming \u201cTo the desert,\u201d which is the mountain of God, to make their souls, to receive from there the soul of a proselyte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
61) This is why that place is a mountain, for anyone who comes is rewarded with it, and he is called \u201ca proselyte of justice.\u201d Thus, he is called \u201ca foreigner\u201d although he clung to this high and holy place, since one who left his people and his ancestors is called \u201ca foreigner.\u201d And he is called \u201ca proselyte of justice,\u201d as one who places his abode in a place he did not know before, meaning in the Shechina, who is called “justice”.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
