{"id":11482,"date":"2025-12-10T21:23:46","date_gmt":"2025-12-10T21:23:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.kabbalah.info\/?post_type=book&#038;p=11482"},"modified":"2025-12-10T21:23:46","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T21:23:46","slug":"and-moses-went-up-to-god","status":"publish","type":"book","link":"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/en\/and-moses-went-up-to-god\/","title":{"rendered":"And Moses Went Up to God"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>245) \u201cAnd Moses went up to God,\u201d meaning that he ascended to the place where the wings of the Shechina spread, as it is written, \u201cHe bowed the heavens, and came down.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>246) As long as the engravings of the upper king\u2014the engraving of the screen of&nbsp;<em>Hirik<\/em>&nbsp;in the middle line, which is&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>\u2014straighten in their places, meaning sentence between right and left, the worlds are all in joy and all the deeds straighten on their existence, as it is written, \u201cThe work of the Lord, that it is terrible.\u201d \u201cIt is terrible\u201d is the wholeness of everything, as it is written, \u201cThe great, mighty, and terrible God.\u201d \u201cTerrible\u201d is Jacob, middle line. It is written, \u201cJacob was a whole man,\u201d translated as a complete man, whole in everything. Likewise, all the works of the Creator are whole, complete in their existence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>247) It is written, \u201cHe feared and he said, \u2018How terrible is this place?\u2019\u201d What did he see of which he said that it was terrible? He saw the wholeness of the holy faith,&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>, which was found in this place as it is above, and wherever His wholeness was found was called \u201cterrible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>248) Thus, why is it translated as \u201cterrible\u201d and not \u201cwhole,\u201d because it should have been translated as \u201cwhole\u201d? However, there is fear only where there is wholeness, and wherever there is wholeness, it is called \u201cterrible,\u201d as it is written, \u201cFear the Lord, you His holy ones, for there is no want to those who fear Him.\u201d From what he says, it means that there is no want, that fear is wholeness, since in a place where there is no want, there is wholeness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>249) Who ascended to the heavens and came down? It is Moses, as it is written, \u201cAnd Moses went up to God.\u201d Who collected wind in his hands? It is Aaron, as it is written, \u201cAnd two handfuls of finely ground sweet incense.\u201d Who gathered water in a gown? It is Elijah, as it is written, \u201cSurely there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.\u201d Who raised all the peoples of the land? It is Abraham, of whom it is written, \u201c\u2018These are the generations of the heaven and the earth when they were created.\u2019 Do not pronounce it&nbsp;<em>BeHibra\u2019am<\/em>&nbsp;[when they were created] but&nbsp;<em>BeAvraham<\/em>&nbsp;[in Abraham].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>250) Who ascended to the heaven? It is the Creator, of whom it is written, \u201cGod has ascended with a shout.\u201d Who gathered wind in his hands? It is the Creator, as it is written, \u201cIn whose hand is the life of every living thing.\u201d Who collected water in a gown? It is the Creator, as it is written, \u201cHe wraps up the waters in His clouds.\u201d Who raised all the peoples of the earth? It is the Creator, as it is written, \u201cOn the day that the Lord God made heaven and earth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>253) It is all one thing, and all things are in the Creator, and all are of the same weight. \u201c\u2018These are the generations of the heaven and the earth when they were created.\u2019 Do not pronounce it&nbsp;<em>BeHibra\u2019am<\/em>&nbsp;[when they were created] but&nbsp;<em>BeAvraham<\/em>&nbsp;[in Abraham],\u201d&nbsp;<em>Hesed<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>, as it is written, \u201cFor I have said, \u2018A world of&nbsp;<em>Hesed<\/em>&nbsp;[grace\/mercy] shall be built.\u201d And likewise with the other names\u2014Moses, Aaron, Elijah\u2014who are the four elements\u2014fire, wind, water, and dust\u2014which are the names of the Creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>254) \u201cWho ascended to the heavens and came down? Who collected wind in his hands? Who gathered water in a gown? Who raised all the peoples of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son\u2019s name, If you know?\u201d It is all good, but is the end of the verse, \u201cWhat is His name, and what is His Son\u2019s name, If you know?\u201d \u201cWhat is His name?\u201d Right. But \u201cWhat is the name of His son?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>255) It is written, \u201cMy son, My firstborn, Israel.\u201d It is also written, \u201cIsrael, in whom I will show My glory.\u201d Israel means&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>, and this is called \u201cHis son.\u201d All the while, Rabbi Yisa did not remember what he told him in the dream. His mind was weak, he went to his home and slept. In a dream, he was shown a book of legend that said, \u201cWisdom and glory are in His Temple.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>256) He awoke, went to Rabbi Shimon, kissed his hands, and said, \u201cThis is what I saw in my dream. Another time, I saw in my dream a book of legend that was shown to me, which said, \u2018Wisdom [<em>Hochma<\/em>] and glory [<em>Tifferet<\/em>] are in His Temple:&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>&nbsp;in their place, above,&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>&nbsp;in their place, below, in His Temple, which is&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>.\u2019 Thus, once I saw in my dream, and thus I have found in my mouth, meaning that this verse fell in my mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rabbi Shimon told him, \u201cYou are still a child to come among the harvesters of the field, the authors of the secret, yet you were shown everything.\u201d This is the meaning of the words, \u201cWhat is His name or His son\u2019s name, if you should know?\u201d&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>&nbsp;is His name,&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>&nbsp;is His son, since&nbsp;<em>HB<\/em>&nbsp;are&nbsp;<em>AVI<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>257) \u201cAnd Moses went up to God.\u201d Happy is Moses, who was awarded this honor, that the Torah testifies about him so. What is between Moses and the rest of the people in the world? When the rest of the people in the world rise, they rise to wealth, they rise to greatness, they rise to kingship. But when Moses ascended, it is written, \u201cMoses went up to God.\u201d Happy is he.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>258) We learn from it that he who comes to be purified is aided, for it is written, \u201cMoses went up to God,\u201d and after that, it is written, \u201cAnd the Lord called to him,\u201d since he who wishes to draw close is brought
