As economists David Hemenway and Sara Solnick demonstrated in a study at Harvard University, many people would prefer to receive an annual salary of $50,000 when others are making $25,000, than earn $100,000 a year when others are making $200,000&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/eng\/content\/view\/full\/108926#anchor_ftn1\"><\/a><a><\/a>[<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/eng\/content\/view\/full\/108926#f44\">44<\/a><\/strong>]. Similarly, economists Daniel Zizzo and Andrew Oswald conducted a study that showed that people would give up money if doing so would cause someone else to give up a slightly larger sum.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/eng\/content\/view\/full\/108926#anchor_ftn2\"><\/a><a><\/a>[<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/eng\/content\/view\/full\/108926#f45\">45<\/a><\/strong>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/eng\/content\/view\/full\/108926#anchor_ftnref1\"><\/a><a><\/a>[<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/eng\/content\/view\/full\/108926#44\">44<\/a><\/strong>] Solnick, S.J., &amp; Hemenway, D., (1998). \u201cIs more always better?
