With Me, from Lebanon, Bride"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201c\u2018With Me, from Lebanon, bride.\u2019 Rabbi Levi said, \u2018The conduct is to adorn the bride and perfume her, and then bring her to the&nbsp;<em>Huppah<\/em>&nbsp;[wedding canopy].\u2019 But the Creator did not do so. Rather, He said to the assembly of Israel, \u2018With Me, from Lebanon, bride. From silt and bricks I took you and made you a bride\u2019\u201d (<em>Midrash Rabbah<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>BeShalach<\/em>, Chapter 23).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interpretation: The Creator brings a person closer not because of one\u2019s good qualities, but due to lowliness, when one feels that he is submerged in sludge and bricks, meaning he wants to make himself white but he cannot.
