The Quality of \u201cStill\u201d and the Quality of \u201cVegetative\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>March 1979<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is known that there is the quality of \u201cgeneral\u201d and the quality of \u201cparticular.\u201d The general public in Israel are called \u201cstill.\u201d This is regarded as a \u201cbeast,\u201d which is the quality of&nbsp;<em>Nefesh<\/em>, from the word&nbsp;<em>Nefisha<\/em>&nbsp;[stillness\/rest], which has only general movement, and each species has its own unique quality for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conversely, the quality of \u201cvegetative\u201d has its own personal movement. This is called \u201cman,\u201d \u201cfor man is a tree of the field.\u201d In the vegetative, there is always renewal, which constantly grows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the \u201cstill,\u201d it is not apparent how it grows. This is called \u201cgeneral movement,\u201d where in general there is growth in the \u201cstill.\u201d Hence, the general public are always generally fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conversely, in the individual, those who belong to the quality \u201cman is a tree of the field,\u201d there must always be renewals, meaning growth. They constantly grow because this is the manner of the manifestation of the upper abundance, as in \u201cThe Son of David [Messiah] does not come before all the souls in the body have been consumed\u201d (<em>Yevamot<\/em>&nbsp;62a).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence, there is no renewal of light that does not extend from&nbsp;<em>Ein Sof<\/em>&nbsp;[infinity\/no end], since in this manner the abundance expands one at a time. For this reason, when one constantly renews his work, he is always in a state of \u201cwalking.\u201d If he remains in his degree, he is brought down from above, and then he becomes \u201cdescending.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is so in order for him to need to ascend once more to a new degree, since each time he rises back up, it does not mean that he ascends to his previous degree, but it is always a new state. It follows that either he ascends or descends, but \u201cstanding\u201d does not pertain to the quality of man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conversely, people who belong to the quality of \u201cstill of&nbsp;<em>Kedusha<\/em>&nbsp;[holiness],\u201d are regarded as \u201cstanding,\u201d meaning they do not need to fall from their degree.
