A Higher Soul"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cThis is the constitution of the Torah [law] that the Lord had commanded to say,\u201d etc. \u201cCome and see, when this dead departs from the world without children, the daughter of that prince does not gather him to her.\u201d (<em>The Zohar<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Hukat<\/em>, Item 10). In other words, if the will to receive departs from him and he has no need for himself, but his intention is only for the sake of the Creator, he still has no sons because he has still not been rewarded with understanding in the Torah, as in \u201cIf you do not know, O fairest among women.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was interpreted in the new&nbsp;<em>Zohar<\/em>&nbsp;that \u201cAlthough you are the fairest among women, if you do not know the secrets of the Torah, \u2018Go forth by the footsteps of the flock,\u2019\u201d and you can learn the secrets of Torah from people \u201cwho trample it with their heels.\u201d This is the meaning of \u201cthe daughter of that prince does not gather him to her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Creator takes pity on him and commands his brother to redeem him.\u201d That is, the soul, which is a brother to the body in the same manner as Esau, who is called the \u201cwill to receive,\u201d and Jacob is called \u201cdesire to bestow,\u201d the soul, as in \u201cHe who comes to purify is aided.\u201d&nbsp;<em>The Zohar<\/em>&nbsp;interprets that it is with a holy soul, meaning that he is given a higher soul, called \u201cgreater forces,\u201d which can win the war of the inclination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo return and be corrected in another dust,\u201d meaning another body. In other words, through an incarnation, when a higher soul incarnates into his body and is called \u201cother\u201d with respect to the new soul, which is clothed in this body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf this redeemer does not wish to revive his brother,\u201d meaning if the new soul cannot redeem the body that is called \u201cher brother,\u201d \u201cDoes not wish\u201d means \u201ccannot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA shoe must be tied to his leg,\u201d meaning we must add in the matter of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat woman,\u201d meaning the&nbsp;<em>Shechina<\/em>&nbsp;[Divinity], \u201cshall release him and take that shoe to her.\u201d In other words, the&nbsp;<em>Shechina<\/em>&nbsp;takes the shoe that man has made for her, meaning she accepts the work that he has done, which is a&nbsp;<em>Masach<\/em>&nbsp;[screen] that he has placed on the will to receive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo show that that dead returns to being among the living by this act,\u201d and by this the dead is incarnated into the newborn son. In other words, through one\u2019s work of placing a&nbsp;<em>Masach<\/em>&nbsp;on the will to receive, he is rewarded with a son, meaning with the secrets of Torah called \u201cson.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is the opposite of that shoe which the dead takes from the living\u201d (<em>The Zohar<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Hukat<\/em>, Item 12), for then that kept shoe, which is on faith, takes the will to receive, meaning those who want to walk with the external intellect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conversely, when the&nbsp;<em>Shechina<\/em>&nbsp;takes the shoe, he is rewarded with the inner intellect, meaning that now he has the sensation of Godliness through&nbsp;<em>Dvekut<\/em>&nbsp;[adhesion], for the Creator has given him the knowledge and feeling of Godliness. Before the dead receives the shoe, it is considered that he wants knowledge and reception for himself.
