He Who Prays for His Friend"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>September 1, 1978<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe who prays for his friend is answered first\u201d (<em>Baba Kama<\/em>&nbsp;92b).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is seemingly a deceit. We should understand \u201canswered first,\u201d as in \u201cBefore they call, I will answer.\u201d It means that for a person to be able to ask for his friend, one first needs assistance from above. Otherwise, the body does not agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo You Lord is the righteousness, and to us is the shame.\u201d \u201cAnd he believed in the Lord and He considered it for him as righteousness.\u201d Concerning shame, it must be felt over the Giver, and then the shame comes by itself, as our sages said, \u201cafraid to look at his face.\u201d However, when he does not feel the Giver, from whom will he be ashamed? Therefore, \u201cTo You Lord is the righteousness,\u201d meaning that he gives Him the faith. Then it can be said, \u201cand to us is the shame.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is as it is written in&nbsp;<em>The Zohar<\/em>: \u201cIt is known that no quality can rise above its degree before upper illumination is lowered down to it, so that afterward it will be able to grow and rise up\u201d (Song of Songs).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 1, 1978 \u201cHe who prays for his friend is answered first\u201d (Baba Kama&nbsp;92b).
