And the Canaanite, King of Arad, Heard"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>September 1980<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAaron is the right arm of Israel, as it is written, \u2018And the Canaanite, king of Arad, heard.\u2019\u201d It is written in the&nbsp;<em>Sulam<\/em>&nbsp;[Ladder commentary on&nbsp;<em>The Zohar<\/em>], \u201cIt means that when it is written, \u2018The Canaanite, king of Arad \u2026 heard that Israel was coming by way of Atarim, and he fought against Israel and took some of them captive.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy way of Atarim\u201d means that Israel were as a person walking without an arm and supporting himself in every place.&nbsp;<em>Atarim<\/em>&nbsp;means places [in Hebrew]. And then, \u201cHe fought against Israel and took some of them captive.\u201d Come and see, Aaron was the right arm of the body, which is&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>. For this reason, it is written, \u201cWalking at the right side of Moses, the arm of his glory [<em>Tifferet<\/em>]. Who is he? It is Aaron, who is the right arm of&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>\u201d (<em>The Zohar<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is known that Aaron is called \u201cthe queen\u2019s best man.\u201d In order to take upon themselves the burden of the kingdom of heaven, they needed the quality of Aaron, called&nbsp;<em>Hesed<\/em>&nbsp;[grace\/mercy], as in \u201cbecause he desires mercy.\u201d This means that whatever situation one is in, he is content because the acceptance of the burden of&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>&nbsp;is from the side of&nbsp;<em>Hesed<\/em>&nbsp;and not from the side of&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>&nbsp;[wisdom], but above reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vessels of bestowal, whether in mind or in heart, are considered \u201cbecause he desires mercy,\u201d when he has no need for any support or solid basis on which to build his kingship [<em>Malchut<\/em>]. Rather, without any support on any place or seeing, with this quality he goes and fights the war against the inclination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At that time, the&nbsp;<em>Sitra<\/em>&nbsp;<em>Achra<\/em>&nbsp;[other side] cannot harm him because she has nowhere to grip in a place where he has support, and cancel his support, since he has no support anywhere. For this reason, the&nbsp;<em>Sitra<\/em>&nbsp;<em>Achra<\/em>&nbsp;cannot conquer any spots where he has acquired his support, since this discernment is called \u201cthe earth hangs on nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence, when they did not have the quality of Aaron, which is&nbsp;<em>Hesed<\/em>, but they rather came by way of Atarim, meaning that they came to&nbsp;<em>Kedusha<\/em>&nbsp;[holiness] through support in many places, for this reason, the&nbsp;<em>Sitra<\/em>&nbsp;<em>Achra<\/em>&nbsp;could fight against Israel, as it is written, \u201cHe fought against Israel and took some of them captive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in the quality of Aaron, which is&nbsp;<em>Hesed<\/em>, there is no place, so there is no grip.
