What It Means to Bear a Son and a Daughter in the Work"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cA man who does not want to complete the holy name, meaning to bear a son and a daughter \u2026 it is better for him if he were not created\u201d (<em>The Zohar<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>VaYikra<\/em>, Item 95).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We should understand the meaning of son and daughter and that if one does not have them, it is better if he were not created. \u201cFather\u201d and \u201cSon\u201d are \u201ccause\u201d and \u201cconsequence.\u201d Hence, when a person takes upon himself the kingdom of heaven, called \u201cfaith,\u201d this faith should engender in a person a son and a daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSon\u201d means a male, which is&nbsp;<em>Hassadim<\/em>, vessels of bestowal. This is why&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>&nbsp;is called \u201cmale,\u201d since his quality is&nbsp;<em>Hassadim<\/em>.&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>&nbsp;is called \u201cdaughter,\u201d \u201cfemale,\u201d who uses the vessels of reception in order to bestow. For this reason,&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>&nbsp;is attributed to&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence, a person must achieve the wholeness of above, meaning&nbsp;<em>Hassadim<\/em>, male, and&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>, female. Therefore, the faith that a person receives should engender in a person a son, called \u201clight of&nbsp;<em>Hassadim<\/em>,\u201d as well as a daughter, who is regarded as&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otherwise, the Name is incomplete, since the holy name is The Good Who Does Good, good for himself and good for others. We can interpret \u201chimself\u201d as the good inclination and \u201cothers\u201d as the evil inclination, meaning&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Hassadim<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By this we can interpret \u201cRewarded, his work is done by others.\u201d When a person is rewarded, his work is done by others. Who are the \u201cothers\u201d within man? It is the evil inclination, for then \u201cwith all your heart, with both your inclinations\u201d will come true.
