I heard on Adar<\/em> 24, March 19, 1944<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is written, \u201cAnd He said to him, \u2018Where are you?\u2019 And he said, \u2018I heard Your voice,\u2019\u201d etc., \u201c\u2018and I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid.\u2019 And the Lord said \u2026lest he stretched out his hand and take also from the tree of life,\u201d etc. \u201cSo He drove out the man.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We should understand Adam\u2019s fear, which was so much that he had to hide because he saw himself naked. The thing is that before he ate from the tree of knowledge, his nourishment was from Bina<\/em>, which is the world of freedom. Afterward, when he ate from the tree of knowledge, he saw that he was naked. This means that he was afraid that he would take the light of Torah and use it in the form of \u201cthe herdsmen of Lot\u2019s cattle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe herdsmen of Lot\u2019s cattle\u201d means that there is faith above reason, called \u201cthe herdsmen of Abraham\u2019s cattle.\u201d In other words, one who has been rewarded with attainment of the light of Torah does not take it as the basis of one\u2019s work, saying that now he no longer needs strengthening in faith in the Creator, since he already has the foundation of the light of the Torah. This is called \u201cthe herdsmen of Lot\u2019s cattle,\u201d considered \u201cthe cursed world,\u201d which is considered a curse. This is the opposite of faith, which is a blessing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather, he said, he says that now he sees that if he goes with faith above reason, he will be given from above the light of the Torah, to show him that he is marching on the path of truth. And it is not that he takes it as support, that his work will be within reason, from which one comes into the vessels of reception, on which there was the Tzimtzum<\/em> [restriction]. This is why it is called \u201cthe place of the curse,\u201d since Lot means the cursed world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in that regard, the Creator told him, \u201cWhy are you afraid to take these lights for fear that you will blemish them? Who told you that you were naked? It must be because you have eaten from the tree of knowledge, and this brought you the fear. Previously, when you were eating from every tree in the garden, meaning when you were using the lights by way of \u2018the herdsmen of Abraham\u2019s cattle,\u2019 you had no fear at all.\u201d Hence, he drove him out, \u201clest he stretched out his hand and ate from the tree of life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fear was that he would repent and enter the tree of life. But what is the fear? Since he had sinned in the tree of knowledge, now he must correct the tree of knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the meaning of \u201cHe drove him out of the garden of Eden,\u201d to correct the sin of the tree of knowledge. And afterward, he will be able to enter the garden of Eden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The garden of Eden means the ascent of Malchut<\/em> into Bina<\/em> where she receives Hochma<\/em>, as Eden means Hochma<\/em>. And then Malchut<\/em>, called \u201cgarden,\u201d receives Hochma<\/em> in the form of \u201cEden,\u201d and this is \u201cthe garden of Eden.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
