They Shall Fear You"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cAnd all the peoples of the earth shall see that the name of the Lord is called upon you and they shall fear you\u201d (<em>Minchot<\/em>&nbsp;35b). The great Rabbi Elazar says, \u201cThese are the head&nbsp;<em>Tefillin<\/em>&nbsp;[phylacteries].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the&nbsp;<em>Tosfot<\/em>&nbsp;there, he interprets in the treatise, that he wrote on them the majority of the Name,&nbsp;<em>Shin<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Dalet<\/em>, and it seems that the&nbsp;<em>Dalet<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Yod<\/em>&nbsp;in the straps are not complete letters and are not regarded as part of the name&nbsp;<em>Shadai<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Tosfot<\/em>&nbsp;says the reason is that the head&nbsp;<em>Tefillin<\/em>&nbsp;is more visible than that of the hand, for \u201cshall see\u201d pertains to it, but the hand&nbsp;<em>Tefillin<\/em>&nbsp;should be covered, for it is said about them, \u201ca token on your hand, for you as a token and not for others as a token.\u201d The&nbsp;<em>Shin<\/em>&nbsp;of the&nbsp;<em>Tefillin<\/em>&nbsp;is a law given to Moses at Sinai.
