We should explain the NRNHY of Yetzira and Beria.

2) If we must observe the Mitzvot [commandments] in the literal way, as our sages said, “Why do we blow? The Merciful One said to blow.” Thus, what does it mean that we are seeking books that explain the meaning of the Mitzvot?

Answers:

1) Baal HaSulam said that we must learn the intention of the Mitzvot of the ARI. It is good for one to know that there is something in each and every Mitzva [sing. of Mitzvot], and to ask the Creator to open our eyes and reveal to us the flavors of Torah and the flavors of the Mitzvot. However, for ourselves, we should be willing to serve the Creator in the simplest way.

This is regarded as “Let wisdom be given to the wise,” since a person needs a Kli [vessel]. That is, there must be an evident force to absorb the wisdom within him, and all the information he learns are only in order to increase the Kli, meaning that he will have a need for it and it is permitted.

However, when he begins to accustom himself in the literal way, he no longer believes that there are terrible secrets in it, that it is worthwhile for him to draw near the King, so the King will grant him attainment.

He does not need attainment because if he knows the reasons, he will work harder. It follows that he needs assistance, but because “He who does not know the commandment of the upper one, how will he serve Him?” It means that then he will know what and how to serve the Creator.

If he does not have the knowledge, he will still be happy that he nonetheless has the privilege of being given the means to serve the King as a simple servant without any understanding. It follows that he wants to obtain the flavors of Torah only in order to know how to serve Him.

All the reasons that they said what He is, and we learn from books that say not to use it, it is in order to have a desire and yearning for the Creator to reveal the secrets of Torah. But if one already understands the reasons, he has no need for the Creator to bestow upon him.

The most important is the Kli, meaning the yearning for the matter. It follows that by learning the reasons and the concepts, he increases the need to understand and to attain, but the attainment should come from the Creator, and if he does not learn, he will not have the need. This is the meaning of “Let wisdom be given to the wise.”

Questions: 1) Concerning the NRNHY in the world of Assiya, he explains these are the NRNHY of Assiya.
