Nicer than Gold"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Words of Torah: 1) They are holy. 2) They are sublime. 3) They are sweet, as it is written, \u201cNicer than gold and from much fine gold, and sweeter than honey\u201d (<em>The Zohar<\/em>, Part 3, 149 [in Hebrew]).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need to understand these three phrases.&nbsp;<em>The Zohar<\/em>&nbsp;advises that we should learn in order for it to bring&nbsp;<em>Kedusha<\/em>&nbsp;[holiness] to a person. This is the meaning of \u201cThe words of the Torah are holy.\u201d The&nbsp;<em>Kedusha<\/em>&nbsp;that a person wants is in order to achieve&nbsp;<em>Dvekut<\/em>&nbsp;[adhesion], meaning to bestow, called \u201can ascent,\u201d as Baal HaSulam said, that an ascent means&nbsp;<em>Hizdakchut<\/em>&nbsp;[cleansing]. This is the meaning of the words, \u201cThey are sublime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At that time, we taste the sweetness of the Torah in it. This is why it is written, \u201cThey are sweet.\u201d Otherwise, when we learn Torah, it is utterly tasteless, and as one comes, so one leaves, and he does not know what is required of him, and does not know what is written in it. He does not agree with \u201cYou shall not commit adultery,\u201d meaning the quality of the heart and the quality of slander. It is written in it, \u201cYou shall not commit murder\u201d; he does not agree.
