A Scorpion and a Snake"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cThe pit is empty; there is no water in it,\u201d meaning there is no Torah in it. But there are snakes and scorpions in it, meaning that if (there is no) Torah in it, there are immediately snakes and scorpions in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Akrab<\/em>&nbsp;[scorpion] is called&nbsp;<em>Kar-Av<\/em>&nbsp;[cold-thick] where the coldness comes to him because of&nbsp;<em>Aviut<\/em>&nbsp;[thickness]. It has no eyes, meaning the quality of&nbsp;<em>Hochma<\/em>&nbsp;[wisdom]. This means that it does not argue with the intellect, but simply with&nbsp;<em>Aviut<\/em>. A \u201csnake\u201d is regarded as the mind, which argues with the intellect, as it is written in the Jerusalem [Talmud], \u201cAnd the snake was cunning\u201d and argued with Eve. It started and said, \u201cAlthough God said,\u201d etc. This is why everyone agrees that a scorpion determines, but not a snake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cThe pit is empty; there is no water in it,\u201d meaning there is no Torah in it.
