It is written, “A small city with few people in it.” The Yod, in which there is no white of another place, to be incorporated and let others into her, this is why there are few people in her. A great king came to her, the letter Lamed, which is a tower floating in the pure air that is perceived, YESHSUT. There is another air, which is completely imperceptible and unknown; it is upper AVI. Hence, The Zohar makes the precision of saying “air that is perceived,” which is YESHSUT.

Air is the level of Ruach, which was made in AVI and in YESHSUT due to the ascent of Malchut, Yod, into their light, and their light was diminished into air, VAK, and the GAR disappeared.

There is a difference between the level of the air of AVI and the level of the air of YESHSUT, since the air of AVI is never perceived, meaning that GAR never return on them. VAK without GAR are regarded as imperceptible, but the air of YESHSUT is perceptible, for in them, the Yod exits the air once more, and they return to being the light of GAR. For this reason, their air is perceptible.

A great king came to her, the letter Lamed, who is a tower floating in the pure air, which is perceived, Bina, whose GAR are upper AVI, and whose VAK are YESHSUT. Due to the ascent of Malchut, the Yod, to her light, the light became air, and this is why she is called “a tower floating in the air.” In order for you not to be mistaken that the intention is for upper AVI, it was said “in the pure air, which is perceived,” for at the time of Gadlut, the Yod exits the air, and the air is perceived and returns to GAR, and this is applied in YESHSUT.

453. Although the letter Lamed, Bina, is king over all the letters, since the letters come out from Bina, he enters into the Yod, Malchut, the tiny black letter in which there is no white from another place, and collects her into her and incorporates her, and surrounds her with one letter, Tet. Tet was a Lamed, and by that circling that he encircles round and round, the Tet is made, in a circle.

In the first state, Malchut is adhered and receives Hochma from the left line of Bina. Hence, at that time, she was as big as ZA, as both received from one source. Afterwards, she came to the second state, when she diminished herself and descended below Yesod of ZA, and she has only what she receives from Yesod of ZA.

For this reason, although the letter Lamed is king over all the letters, a great king, YESHSUT, he enters the Yod, Malchut in the first state, who was adhered and received Hochma from the left line of YESHSUT, and surrounds her with one letter, Tet. That is, in the second state, when she was diminished into a dot under Yesod of ZA, where Yesod of ZA is the letter Tet, Yesod bestowed in her Hochma and Hassadim.

Tet was Lamed, and in the circling that he circled, she became a Tet, in a circle. In the beginning, in the first state, the Mochin of Malchut were from the letter Lamed, YESHSUT, and in the circling that he encircled until Malchut came to the second state, the Mochin of Lamed diminished from Malchut, and instead of her, the Mochin of the letter Tet were made, Yesod of ZA. You find that the Mochin of the letter Tet, which Malchut receives now, were at first the Mochin of the letter Lamed.

454. It is written, “and built great snares around it,” in order to catch anyone she wants with her snare. It is written, “who is snares and nets.” He built on her, for her, for her honor, to give her dominion over several who were sentenced to courthouse deaths, and over several who were sentenced to fines, and several who were sentenced to punishments. One who entered and desecrated that dot will be punished a harsh punishment for that dot.

455. Because of this dot, Solomon lost his kingdom and it was torn and given to others, although it is smaller than all the letters, and she is only one dot.

456. At that time, when the Yod rose before the holy king, she said to him, “Behold, king Solomon is making me into a lie,” as she is the Yod from the verse, “But he shall not multiply horses to himself … Neither shall he multiply women for himself … nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself.” The Creator said to her, “Solomon will perish, and a thousand others, but you will not be uprooted from your place.”

457. At that time, the Kof went out from before the Creator, drove him out of his kingdom, and he wandered in the world as one who is contemptible. He declared and said of the letter Kof, “I am Ecclesiastes; I was king over Israel in Jerusalem.”

Yod, the middle point that rides on the Dalet and became a Hey, is the carrier of the screen of Hirik of ZA after she descended under the Chazeh of ZA. Hence, she rules over the Hochma of the left line so it will not be drawn from above downward to spoil the correction of the middle line.

It is written, “and built great snares around it,” to give her dominion over several who were sentenced to courthouse deaths. By the force of the judgments of the screen of Hirik that she carries, she punishes he who blemishes her, he who draws the Hochma from above downward, with all kinds of punishments. One who enters and desecrates that dot will be punished a harsh punishment. One who enters her to desecrate her, desecrates her boundary.

There are three lines on the left line, since each of the three lines is incorporated with all of them. Her right line is women; her left line is horses, and the middle line, which contains both, is silver and gold, silver from the right, and gold from the left.

Accordingly, there is a measure in those three, to draw in them only from below upward and not from above downward. These are the three letters Yod, the carriers of the screen of Hirik that warns and punishes for their excessive proliferation. Since king Solomon breached them, the Yod came up before the king, the Yod from the verse, “But he shall not multiply horses to himself,” since he blemished the quality of the Yod and proliferated excessively. The Creator told her, “Solomon will perish and a thousand others, but you will not be uprooted from your place,” since the correction in her will not be canceled, and he was given the punishment.

The letter Kof implies the shell that draws Hochma from above downward. This is the leg of the Kof, which comes out and is stretched below the line. Therefore, that Kof, in whose net he was caught, punished him and drove him out from his kingdom. This is what that Kof implied in the book Ecclesiastes, when he said, “I am Ecclesiastes; I was king over Israel in Jerusalem,” meaning that now he is not a king. The letter Kof implied this, as he declared and said in the letter Kof, “I am Kohelet,” declaring that the Kof caused the descent from his kingship.

458. It is written about that, “And built great snares around it,” to catch the people of the world for her in their sins. If this were so for Solomon, that he was caught in those snares, it is much more so for the rest of the people. This is why she said, “I am black.” “Do not see me”; you will not be able to look at me and enter me since I am dark.

459. She also said, “my mother’s sons were angry with me,” afflicted me in that dot, so another will not enter me. They expanded and were established in their correction properly. They expanded and were established in the letter Vav, which emerges from the top dot, and were corrected in their corrections properly. They were corrected and expanded and were engraved in the letter Shin, which emerges from there.

460. They were corrected and expanded and were engraved in the letter final Nun. They were corrected and expanded and were engraved in the letter Tzadi, and I have no expansion to a side in the world, and they did not leave for me another place to incorporate you.

Yod contains both diminutions within her—the diminution of the first state, when she was devoid of Hassadim, and the diminution of the second state, when because she went below the Chazeh of ZA, the force of the screen of Hirik in the Chazeh of ZA governs her, and she was diminished from reception of Hochma, as well.

From the first state, she calls HGT of ZA “my mother’s sons,” for then she was clothing the left line of Ima, and HGT of ZA were clothing the right line of Ima. HGT of ZA, who are the sons of the mother of Malchut, are the ones who constrained her and made her into a dot in both diminutions.

This is so because when she was in the first state, they did not give her Hassadim. Afterwards, in the second state, they established the screen of Hirik that is in their Chazeh, at the same point, and she was diminished from Hochma, as well. Another can no longer enter me because I have neither Hochma nor Hassadim.

Through the screen of Hirik that she now carries, all the letters expanded properly. They expanded and were corrected in the letter Vav, which emerges from the top dot, since the letter Vav expanded only in Hassadim that she receives from the top dot, Bina. They were established in the letter Shin, which is an expansion of three lines, like the shape of the Shin, in which there is also incorporation of Hochma of the left. In this way, she brings two letters that indicate the coupling of male and female together.

They were established in the letter final Nun, which is expansion of Hassadim from the letter Vav, male and female together. They were established in the letter Tzadi, indicating the incorporation of male and female, Yod Nun back-to-back due to the incorporation with illumination of Hochma. And I have no expansion to any side, neither to Hassadim on the right side, nor to Hochma on the left side, since she was diminished from both, and she has nothing of her own. And HGT of ZA left me no place to incorporate you, for I have nothing.

452.
