{"id":15565,"date":"2026-01-18T15:11:56","date_gmt":"2026-01-18T15:11:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.kabbalah.info\/?post_type=book&#038;p=15565"},"modified":"2026-01-18T15:11:56","modified_gmt":"2026-01-18T15:11:56","slug":"a-blocked-aleph-inside-a-vav","status":"publish","type":"book","link":"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/en\/a-blocked-aleph-inside-a-vav\/","title":{"rendered":"A Blocked\u00a0Aleph\u00a0inside a\u00a0Vav"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>185)&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>&nbsp;comprises the letters&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Aleph<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>.&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>, sitting on the throne, on&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>, as it is written, \u201cUpon the likeness of the throne was an image as the appearance of a man upon it from above,\u201d which is&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>.&nbsp;<em>Aleph<\/em>&nbsp;is blocked inside the&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>&nbsp;and does not appear because&nbsp;<em>Aleph<\/em>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>AA<\/em>&nbsp;clothed with&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>&nbsp;from his&nbsp;<em>Tabur<\/em>&nbsp;down. He does not appear outside of&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>, as it is written, \u201cBy Myself I have sworn, declares the Lord,\u201d since&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>&nbsp;swears by&nbsp;<em>AA<\/em>&nbsp;who is clothed within him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is why&nbsp;<em>Aleph<\/em>&nbsp;is written but is not read. When we read&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Aleph<\/em>&nbsp;is passive and is not heard in the pronunciation because it points to&nbsp;<em>AA<\/em>, who is blocked and unattainable. The last&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>&nbsp;is the inclusion of the first. It is&nbsp;<em>Yesod<\/em>, the&nbsp;<em>Sium<\/em>&nbsp;of the&nbsp;<em>Guf<\/em>, which is&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>, and the whole of the&nbsp;<em>Guf<\/em>. This is why the letters are included in one another,&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>&#8211;<em>Aleph<\/em>&#8211;<em>Vav<\/em>, which is&nbsp;<em>Rosh<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Sof<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Yesod<\/em>, which are one. And&nbsp;<em>Aleph<\/em>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>AA<\/em>&nbsp;clothed in&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>186) Those two letters, in the same manner as with the letter&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>, it is also with the letter&nbsp;<em>Nun<\/em>. The bent&nbsp;<em>Nun<\/em>&nbsp;is the queen, and&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>, which is&nbsp;<em>Yesod<\/em>, is supported by her, so that&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>&nbsp;is blessed by it. The stretched&nbsp;<em>Nun<\/em>&nbsp;[<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/staging.kabbalah.info\/7cb14480-8e8a-4f5d-a436-6b52bf94ee65\" alt=\"Nun Sofit\">] is expansion of&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>, hence the letters are included and united with each other since&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>, which is a stretched&nbsp;<em>Nun<\/em>, imparts to&nbsp;<em>Yesod<\/em>, who is&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>, and&nbsp;<em>Yesod<\/em>&nbsp;imparts to&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>, which is the bent&nbsp;<em>Nun<\/em>&nbsp;[<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/staging.kabbalah.info\/eabf59f4-3f98-4add-8cc1-e77412c3b2f0\" alt=\"Nun\">]. The&nbsp;<em>Vav<\/em>&nbsp;turns her face from the bent&nbsp;<em>Nun<\/em>&nbsp;and turns her face to the stretched&nbsp;<em>Nun<\/em>, who is the king,&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>, because of the honor of the king. Hence,&nbsp;<em>Yesod<\/em>&nbsp;turns his face opposite the king, meaning that&nbsp;<em>Yesod<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Tifferet<\/em>&nbsp;are always as one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>187) The letter&nbsp;<em>Mem<\/em>&nbsp;does not include another letter in it because the letter of the filling is also&nbsp;<em>Mem<\/em>, except it is an open&nbsp;<em>Mem<\/em>&nbsp;[<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/staging.kabbalah.info\/fa143d7a-52b1-424a-aef0-7800587a9198\" alt=\"Mem (Regular)\">] and a blocked&nbsp;<em>Mem<\/em>&nbsp;[<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/staging.kabbalah.info\/dfb17db4-cfc6-4562-9f5c-6593b3d6fd8d\" alt=\"Mem Sofit\">]. An open&nbsp;<em>Mem<\/em>&nbsp;indicates that&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>&nbsp;is open to receive the abundance from the male. A blocked&nbsp;<em>Mem<\/em>&nbsp;points to&nbsp;<em>Yovel<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Bina<\/em>, whose ways are blocked. Hence, the&nbsp;<em>Mem<\/em>&nbsp;is also blocked on all her sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And although&nbsp;<em>Bina<\/em>&nbsp;sometimes expands, she is still considered blocked, as it is written, \u201cA locked garden is my sister, my bride, a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.\u201d The blocked&nbsp;<em>Mem<\/em>&nbsp;also implies&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>&nbsp;when she is called a \u201csealed fountain.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>188) When the holy king remembers Israel for his name and returns the queen to her place, it is written, \u201cAnd every man shall not be in the tent of meeting when he comes to atone in the holy place.\u201d So is the priest: when he comes to unify the holy name and atone in the holy place, to mate the king and queen, it is written, \u201cAnd every man shall not be in the tent of meeting when he comes to atone in the holy place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>189) The priest evokes peace in the world above and below. He enters in the degree of&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>, washes his body, emerges from that degree to another degree, of&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>, washes his body, and ties the peace to one and to the other, to&nbsp;<em>ZA<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Malchut<\/em>. He sanctifies his hand and they are blessed together. In everything, an act below should be seen so as to evoke its corresponding one above. He must show the clothes he wears so they are such as the act, and he should aim until he establishes everything as it should be, and upper and lower will be
