328) Rabbi Shimon struck his hands against each other. He wept and said, \u201cWoe if I say and disclose a secret, woe if I do not say and the friends lose that thing.\u201d It is written, \u201cAha, Lord God, You bring the remnant of Israel to a complete end.\u201d What is \u201cAha\u201d? And what is \u201cYou bring … a complete end\u201d? When the bottom Hey<\/em> de<\/em> HaVaYaH<\/em>, Malchut<\/em>, is expelled from the king\u2019s palace, the first Hey<\/em> de<\/em> HaVaYaH<\/em>, Bina<\/em>, denies her blessings because of her. Then it is written, \u201cAha … You bring … a complete end.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flaw comes in two letters Hey<\/em> de<\/em> HaVaYaH<\/em>, in Bina<\/em> and in Malchut<\/em>. When the bottom Hey<\/em> avoids receiving blessings, the first Hey<\/em> denies the blessings from everyone, not bestowing upon ZA<\/em>, too, since there are blessings only where there are male and female. And because Malchut<\/em> is expelled from ZA<\/em>, there are no blessings in ZA<\/em>, too, as he is without a Nukva<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

329) This is why it is written, \u201cThe Lord will roar from on high, and from His holy abode He gives His voice, He will roar mightily against His dwelling place,\u201d truly \u201cAgainst His dwelling place,\u201d which is the queen, who is absent. He roars indeed, and says, \u201cWoe, for I have destroyed My home. \u201cMy home\u201d is the Zivug<\/em> with the queen. When your mother, Malchut<\/em>, was separated because of the iniquity of the lower ones, the lights depart from ZA<\/em>, too, and ZA<\/em>, your father, is also flawed. At that time it is written, \u201cI clothe the heaven with blackness, and make sackcloth their covering.\u201d ZA<\/em> is called \u201cheaven.\u201d The place of the lot of the blessings of the fountains of the streams, which are in Bina<\/em>, which were flowing and watering ZA<\/em> properly, have been denied and have departed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

330) When the king parts from the queen and blessings are absent, ZA<\/em> is called \u201cwoe,\u201d meaning \u201cwoe to me.\u201d Yesod<\/em> is a small Vav<\/em>. When the queen moves away from the king, ZA<\/em>, the blessings are denied from him, and there is no Zivug<\/em> at the Rosh<\/em> of Yesod<\/em>, the upper Vav<\/em>, ZA<\/em>, takes the Rosh<\/em> of Yesod<\/em>, which is Yod<\/em>, and draws it to it, creating the combination Vav<\/em>–Yod<\/em> [woe], woe to the upper and the lower. Since the lower ones do not receive, the upper ones are not permitted to bestow upon them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

331) Since the day when the Temple was ruined, there are no blessings in the world, and there is no day without curses in it. It is so because the blessings that should come each day are denied and become curses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

332) If it is written \u201cWoe\u201d or \u201calas\u201d or \u201cah\u201d what do they mean? When the matter depends on repentance and they do not repent, the first Hey<\/em> de<\/em> HaVaYaH<\/em>, Bina<\/em>, takes them and draws the Vav<\/em> and Yod<\/em> to her because they do not repent. This creates the combination Hey<\/em>–Vav<\/em>–Yod<\/em> [alas], and then it is called \u201calas.\u201d \u201cAlas\u201d is when the king, ZA<\/em>, departed up above, to Bina<\/em>. 333) When the iniquities of the world multiply, in the beginning repentance was hanging but they did not want to repent, so the letter Hey<\/em> departed, meaning Bina<\/em>, repentance, and the letter Aleph<\/em>, Keter<\/em>, raised the letters Vav<\/em> Yod<\/em> to him, and it is read as \u201cwoe.\u201d And when the Temple was ruined and repentance departed, they shouted and said, \u201cWoe to us, for the day declines, for the shadows of the evening lengthen.\u201d \u201cFor the day declines\u201d means the upper day, Bina<\/em>, repentance, who has departed and gone, and is not present. 334) Vav<\/em>, ZA<\/em>, went up to Keter<\/em>, which is Aleph<\/em>, and the palace was burned and the people exiled. The queen has been expelled and the house was ruined. He saw His palace burnt; He sought the people, but they were exiled. He saw the blessings of the deep streams that extended from Bina<\/em>, and they were denied. Then it is written, \u201cAnd in that day did the Lord, the God of hosts, call to weeping, and to lamentation, and to baldness, and to wearing sackcloth.\u201d And then, \u201cI clothe the heaven,\u201d ZA<\/em>, \u201cwith blackness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

335) At that time, Vav<\/em> Yod<\/em> were drawn one opposite the other. The Yod<\/em>, the Rosh<\/em> of Yesod<\/em>, was drawn to the Vav<\/em>, ZA<\/em>, and parted from Malchut<\/em>. The first Hey<\/em> of HaVaYaH<\/em>, Bina<\/em>, poured streams to the Sitra Achra<\/em>, and blessings were not found because there were no male and female, ZA<\/em> and Malchut<\/em>, and they are not dwelling together.
