231) \u201cI am young and despised; I have not forgotten Your precepts.\u201d At times, King David would praise himself, as it is written, \u201cWho does kindness to His Messiah, to David, and to his descendants forever and ever.\u201d It is also written, \u201cThe saying of David the son of Jesse, and the saying of the man raised on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob.\u201d Sometimes he pretended to be poor, as it is written, \u201cFor I am poor and meager.\u201d It is also written, \u201cI am young and despised.\u201d And he said, \u201cThe stone which the builders loathed became the cornerstone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
232) When he would rise in the degree of peace and ascend in true judgment, ruling over his enemies, he would praise himself. And when he saw himself in plight and his enemies oppressed him, he lowered himself and would call himself \u201cpoor,\u201d \u201cYounger than all,\u201d since sometimes he would rule, and sometimes he was in plight by his enemies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
233) This is why he always governed them and they could not prevail over him. Also, King David always lowered himself before the Creator, for anyone who lowers himself before the Creator, the Creator raises him above all. This is why the Creator desired David in this world and in the next world. In this world, as it is written, \u201cAnd I will protect this city for My own sake, and for My servant David’s sake.\u201d In the next world it is as it is written, \u201cAnd [they will] seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall come trembling unto the Lord and to His goodness in the end of days.\u201d David is a king in this world, and David will be a king for the next world. This is why it was said, \u201cThe stone which the builders loathed became the cornerstone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
234) When the sun, ZA<\/em>, turns back his face and does not shine for the moon, Malchut<\/em>, the light is removed from the moon and she does not illuminate. At that time she is poor and darkened from all sides; she has no light at all. When the sun returns before her and illuminates for her, her face illuminates and she adorns herself for the sun like a female adorns herself for the male. Then she is governing in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 235) David was adorning himself like the moon because David is Malchut<\/em>. At times he is poor, at times he is richer than all.
