A Righteous Shall Live by His Faith"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>July 5, 1962, Antwerp<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHabakuk came and based them all on one, \u2018A righteous shall live by his faith\u2019\u201d (<em>Makkot<\/em>&nbsp;24a).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We should interpret \u201cbased them all on one,\u201d meaning that the whole Torah is interpreted on one matter, which is faith. Once he has the basis, the Torah for the sake of Torah begins. But before the Torah, it is for the sake of \u201cone,\u201d meaning that through the Torah he will come to the&nbsp;<em>Mitzva<\/em>&nbsp;[commandment] that is called \u201cone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It follows that we should learn Torah and see how the Torah speaks only of matters of faith.
