{"id":16656,"date":"2026-01-27T19:03:03","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T19:03:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.kabbalah.info\/?post_type=book&#038;p=16656"},"modified":"2026-01-27T19:03:04","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T19:03:04","slug":"changing-the-intent","status":"publish","type":"book","link":"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/en\/changing-the-intent\/","title":{"rendered":"Changing the Intent"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Q: You write about the deletion of surplus desires, but on the other hand, you say that there are no surplus desires, that no desire should be eradicated, but that man\u2019s egoistic nature should be mended to match that of the Creator (altruistic).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A:<\/strong>&nbsp;The term \u201cdeletion\u201d refers to the change of the intent from&nbsp;<em>Lo&nbsp;<\/em><em>Lishma<\/em>&nbsp;(not for Her name) to&nbsp;<em>Lishma<\/em>&nbsp;(for Her name). Through the change of the intent, the will to receive acquires a completely different outer shape. If, for example, a person wants to kill, that desire could be used positively, such as by working in a slaughterhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: I can\u2019t ascribe spiritual intents to several of my aspirations. Is it right to delete a corporeal desire that cannot be joined with a spiritual intent, the aim \u201cfor the Creator?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A:<\/strong>&nbsp;You should never dig into your uncorrected desires. \u201cOne is where one\u2019s thoughts are.\u201d Think of the Creator, of His Thought, and His Greatness. Only the surrounding Light, which comes through your study, can change you; you cannot do so by yourself. Therefore, don\u2019t even try; it is not the right approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, not all people know about Kabbalah and therefore think that bad thoughts and desires can be deleted.
