{"id":6242,"date":"2025-10-18T20:49:35","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T20:49:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.kabbalah.info\/?post_type=book&#038;p=6242"},"modified":"2026-01-29T22:13:57","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T22:13:57","slug":"a-poem-of-sanctity","status":"publish","type":"book","link":"https:\/\/www.kabbalah.info\/en\/a-poem-of-sanctity\/","title":{"rendered":"A Poem of Sanctity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>My God, the soul You have placed in me is pure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You blew in my nostrils and I became a living soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How wonderful is Your love, for beauty and for light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My lips are too villainous to speak fairly of it,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And my Creator has fashioned me, I am still budding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My soul is desperate, a wound within my heart,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I delight to serve Him, for He is my Father<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I so desire Him, and He desires me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is generous, and there is much work,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I am a learned man, destined for redemption,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As befits the queen, with faith and duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indeed, He pushed me and my heart is torn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My soul is as a wheel, turning on its hinge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From its end and onward, it will not move at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its sunlight shone beyond her face,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And since then, of all her wishes, she is worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A hidden hand shattered my bones,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I became ignoble and became two camps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One obeyed the orders of my corpse,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the rest follow my soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indeed, my body knows no lust from them,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For they did not honor its God with delight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like a bewildered eunuch, it is deprived of love,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its labor leaves it and it does not know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One who eats with it from the cakes of my lust,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the wonders of love, the revealing of the concealed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or lustful words from my nectar and potion,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Will hush me with mockery, \u201cWhat will the people say?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is he who will never taste of my pleasantness,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I, where will I turn? To His delights,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And he, too, was added to my troubles,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To anger me with his rage and with his blows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the day of relief, he will still not give me a blessing,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather, his mockery of me will be as plentiful as locusts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why walk in the clouds and be so troubled,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For you will surely burn as a flame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If time has been kind and has turned to you,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, they did not know you or your dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For in degradation they encounter you at every corner,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One will spit in your face, and one will pull out your hair.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My God, the soul You have placed in me is pure.
