This means that through keeping the\u00a0Mitzvot\u00a0he will be rewarded with adherence to the\u00a0Metzaveh\u00a0(Commander).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Baal HaSulam,\u00a0Shamati\u00a0[I Heard], Article no. 227,<br>\u201cThe Reward for a\u00a0Mitzva\u2013a\u00a0Mitzva\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>When one can aim in order to bestow, this act is called \u201ca\u00a0Mitzva\u00a0[good deed].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Rabash,\u00a0The Rungs of the Ladder,<br>\u201cConcerning the Reward of the Receivers\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The work in Torah and\u00a0Mitzvot\u00a0begins primarily after one has been awarded repentance from love. Only then is it possible to engage in Torah and\u00a0Mitzvot\u00a0with love and fear, as we are commanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Baal HaSulam, \u201cIntroduction to The Study<br>of the Ten Sefirot,\u201d Item 133<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>All the\u00a0Mitzvot\u00a0that are written in the Torah or the accepted ones, which the Patriarchs established, although they are mostly actions or words, they are all to correct the heart, \u201cfor the Lord searches all hearts, and understands all the inclinations of the thoughts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Rav Abraham Eben Ezra,&nbsp;Yesod Morah, p 8b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>These were the words of our sages\u00a0(Beresheet Rabba\u00a044) when they asked, \u201cWhy should the Creator mind whether one slaughters at the throat or at the back of the neck?\u201d After all, the\u00a0Mitzvot\u00a0were given only to cleanse people, and that cleansing means the cleansing of the turbid body, which is the purpose that emerges from the observation of all the Torah and\u00a0Mitzvot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Baal HaSulam,&nbsp;Matan Torah&nbsp;[The Giving of the Torah], Item 12<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Our sages said, \u201cThe Torah and\u00a0Mitzvot\u00a0were given only so as to cleanse Israel.\u201d This is the cleansing of the body until one attains a second nature defined as \u201clove for others,\u201d meaning the one\u00a0Mitzva: \u201cLove thy friend as thyself,\u201d which is the final aim of the Torah, after which one immediately attains\u00a0Dvekut\u00a0with Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Baal HaSulam,&nbsp;Matan Torah&nbsp;[The Giving of the Torah], Item 15<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>If one\u2019s intention in the Torah and\u00a0Mitzvot\u00a0is not to benefit the Creator, but oneself, not only will the nature of the will to receive in him not be inverted, but rather, the will to receive in him will be much more than what he was given by the nature of his creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Baal HaSulam, \u201cA Speech for the Completion of The Zohar\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The purpose of the study of Torah is to come to feel the Giver of the Torah. If one does not place the goal of reaching the Giver of the Torah before one\u2019s eyes, he is considered \u201ca gentile,\u201d meaning he has no need for faith, that is, to have a need to seek advice for achieving faith. This is why he is still regarded as \u201ca gentile\u201d and not as \u201cIsrael.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Rabash,\u00a0The Rungs of the Ladder,<br>\u201cWhat are Torah and Work on the Path of the Creator\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The purpose of the whole Creation is that the lowly creatures will be able, by keeping Torah and\u00a0Mitzvot, to rise ever upward, ever developing, until they are rewarded with\u00a0Dvekut\u00a0with their Creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Baal HaSulam,&nbsp;Matan Torah&nbsp;[The Giving of the Torah], Item 6<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The whole of the Torah and the\u00a0Mitzvot\u00a0were given for the sole purpose of cleansing Israel, which is the cleansing of the body, after which he will be granted the true reward, which is\u00a0Dvekut\u00a0with Him, the purpose of Creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Baal HaSulam, The&nbsp;Arvut&nbsp;[Mutual Guarantee], Item 27<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>By accustoming themselves to keeping Torah and the\u00a0Mitzvot\u00a0in order to bring contentment to their Maker, they gradually depart from the bosom of the natural creation and acquire a second nature, being love of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Baal HaSulam,&nbsp;Matan Torah&nbsp;[The Giving of the Torah], Item 13<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The Creator gave us Torah and\u00a0Mitzvot, which we were commanded to do only in order to bestow contentment upon the Creator. Had it not been for the engagement in Torah and\u00a0Mitzvot Lishma\u00a0(for Her Name), to bring contentment to the Creator with them, and not to benefit ourselves, there would have been no tactic in the world that could help us invert our nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Baal HaSulam, \u201cA Speech for the Completion of The Zohar\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>By keeping Torah and\u00a0Mitzvot, the purpose of creation\u2014to do good to His creations\u2014becomes revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Rabash,\u00a0Rabash\u2014the Social Writings,<br>\u201cThe Importance of a Prayer of Many\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The meaning of the souls of the children of Israel is that they are a part of God Above. The soul cascaded by way of cause and consequence and descended degree-by-degree until it became suitable to come into this world and clothe the filthy corporeal body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By keeping the Torah and observing its&nbsp;Mitzvot, it ascends degree-by-degree until its stature is completed, and it is fit to receive its reward from The Whole.
