Correcting Nature

From Steps of the Ladder, vol. 2 article no. 822, by Rabash

Nature can't be changed,
But man can use his nature
For the purpose of
Correcting the world.

This means that he can use each and every trait
In a way that brings correction to the world,
Rather than its destruction,
Similar to matters concerning the physical world.

For example, it is commonly known

That fire is harmful.
If a fire breaks out,
It devours and burns bodies and property.

However, at the same time,
When we use fire as needed,
It brightens the night,
It heats our houses in winter,
And it cooks our food.

So we can see
That even with the most harmful thing,
If used for correction,
Can result in the world
Enjoying fire,
Rather than fleeing it.
