I have been upto now been mostly interested in shivaite tantra, but I also
remember a sad fact: a great part of the energy that propelled the Europeans,
especially the German scholars of the late 19th century, into so serious indian
studies was a definite and ominous will to go as far as possbible to avoid
recognizing the importance of Jewish spirituality in the development of their
own cultures. So considering, even though I still define myself as a shivaite by
choice, I constantly refer to Kabbalal and Chassiduth as a kind of yardstick of
spirituality so to speak, and Kabbalah as presented by Rav Ashlag is far from
being a left-brain thing as too many people influenced by bad presentations of
the subject tend to think. One jewish freind of mine stated that in the choice
of a religion three things must be carefully avoided: love, money, and disgust,
and the kabbalistic tradition as espoused by Rav Ashlag seems to cater for all
three avoidances. Thank you for maintaining so beautiful a website.

studied Yoga for over twenty years now. About 10 years ago the word Kabbalah

also like to receive any other teachings. Thank you and may our creator bless

(*) I wonder what the scholars and holy people who first
studied the Kabbalah and Zohar would think of this "fast food" approach to the
study of their philosophies? It's nice that the material is accessable, but it
doesn't seem to do it justice, entirely.

Texas USA - Saturday, October 16, 1999 at 14:02:33 (PDT)
*Bnei
Baruch: We've treated your comment very seriously and we hope the
following excerpt will clarify you what the scholars and holy people said:
From the Introduction to the Book, “Illuminating and
Explaining aspect”
By the Kabbalist Y. Ashlag, "the Ba’al Hasulam".
The ultimate purpose for which we were created will only be fulfilled by
means of this “inner” Torah and its secrets. Concerning the time of the coming
of the Messiah it is written “Wisdom will be given to the wise…” This refers to
the wide dissemination of the Wisdom of Truth among all the people, which is the
prerequisite to being worthy to accept the goodness of the Messiah. In short:
The spread on the Kaballa and the the Redemption are essentially intertwined.
Therefore we must establish study groups and compose new (expounding and
simplifying) literature in order to expediate the dissemination of this wisdom
among the general populace. This was not historically the case, that is, when
there was still an anxiety lest unscrupulous student should acquire this wisdom
. This, in of itself, has been the main reason for the long extenuation of the
present exile to this day..

"For this cause I have said to you, 'Become full,' that you
may not be in want. They who are in want, however, will not be saved. For it is
good to be full, and bad to be in want. Hence, just as it is good that you be in
want and, conversely, bad that you be full, so he who is full is in want, and he
who is in want does not become full as he who is in want becomes full, and he
who has been filled, in turn attains due perfection. Therefore, you must be in
want while it is possible to fill you, and be full while it is possible for you
to be in want, so that you may be able to fill yourselves the more. Hence,
become full of the Spirit, but be in want of reason, for reason
the soul; in turn, it is (of the nature of) soul."

sure. i've searched the web for more information, and this site is definitly the

My study of Rastari, Selassie and Ethiopian ancient history
has consistently pointed me to the Jewish faith. Ancient history has shown me
that there is a link somewhere that remains a mystery to this day. In trying to
at least delve into this mystery I have discovered evidence which points to a
very interesting link between Africans and ancient Jews, one that goes beyond
the Ark of the Covenant. I look here for more.

I'm taking the very first steps to learn about Kabbalah. I've

I vey much enjoy your web site. I am 31 and a Baal Teshuvah. I
have always been interested in the "spiritual" aspect of Judaiesm. I believe
that Kaballah will help me to attain the spirituality that I am seeking and at
the same time help me to become a better Torah Jew. Please help me to learn
Kabbalah. Send me information on how to learn and what to learn and how and
where I can learn to become a kabbalist to elevate my soul to the highest levels
and truly understand the "hidden" meanings of the Torah. How can I gain access
to the teachings of Rav Yehudah and Rav Baruch so that I can elevate my soul and
overcome my earthly materialistic physical desires----to replace them with
spiritual desires? Where can I find a kabbalist to teach me the correct way to
learn Kabbalah so that I can begin to elevate myself? I would appreciate a
response so that my spiritual journey can begin ASAP so that I might find myself
on a higher spiritual level than I currently occupy before Rosh Hashanah and the
days before Yom Kippur so that I might use that spirituality to help me to do
teshuvah and to begin to become a better person and Jew.

really felt that I'm hebrew. Now I'm really interested in everything that is

do with this feeling. I feel that it is something I knew sometimes but I'm

I am exploring kabbalah as a "theory of everything" in the
sense of "understanding a/the quantum/relative universe" to the extent that it
is humanly possible to do so. Your information seems exciting, stimulating - and
user friendly. Many late nights lay ahead. I am not Jewish but believe that
western scholarship has missed an enormous source - perhaps the essential source
- of enlightenment in theosophy, cosmology, epistemology, ontology (sorry for
these heavies but it is shorthand for this purpose) by neglecting the kabbalah
in preference of the Greek intellectual legacy.

I have recently met a person, who has become a great friend
and who happened to be one of Rabbi Laitman's pupils. This person suggested i
visit this site, for the views which i have developed over the years are largely
reflected here. Besides saying the obvious - that this is a great thing you are
doing, i simply want to add what seems more important to me: I have attended a
"conservative" yeshivah for a few years. It has almost pushed me to anti-semitism,
in a sense of despising most religious jews, all as a consequence of blind and
forceful "education" and system of beliefs. Since then i do not call every Rabbi
a "Rabbi". Of all the "Rabbis" I have met in my life (and I have met quite a
few), I believe only a few deserve such a title, including a few people who have
not attented Rabbinical seminaries, yet, i still believe, are deserving of a
title. To cut a long story short, after visiting this site, and having had a
chance to listen to some of Rabbi Laitman's lessons, there is now one more
person who in my opinion deserves such a title. Thank you, Rabbi Laitman. And, i
do hope, to have chance to meet you some time in the future.

Its amazing to find such lucid and understandable treatment of
a subject as complex as Kaballah. The material presented by your website is an
easy step-by-step beginner's guide to this subject. I think the real challenge

originals can be understood by someone having curiosity and interest. I really

In searching for answers to the meaning of our existence, I
decided to learn more about what jewish belief is. Five years of hebrew school
did not touch at all on such spiritual topics. "The Thirteen Petailed Rose" by
Adin Steinsaltz was the first book on the subject that I had read. Since then, I
have found it difficult fishing through other texts and authors to find true
jewish Kabbalah teachings among the myriad of "occult like" information. Thank
you for your web site. I would like to know where to obtain a copy of the Sulam
of the Zohar which you suggest studying.

spiritual understanding through the guidance and study of the Kabbalah.

Thank you for your beautiful and informative Website, which is
a blessing to all of us. It is obvious to me that there are many learned
scholars and holy persons in your community. For the love of HASHEM, will you
please forward this e-mail message to one who will do me the kindness of
answering a few questions that have been troubling me for some time. I regret to
say that I do not have with me the specific citation for the Book, chapter and
verses of Torah in which this incident occurs, but I am certain that YOU know
and understand how it is to be properly interpreted. I believe that the incident
in question is recounted in the book of Exodus (somewhere around Chapter 6,
maybe?). A little while after G-d commissions Moses to go to Pharoah for the
purpose of freeing Israel from bondage - and a little while after Moses sets out
on this journey and makes his camp along the way - the Torah says that G-d (Adonai)
set out to slay "him." It is not clear to me whether Moses, or his uncircumcised
son, Gershom, or someone else entirely, is the direct object of this verse
(i.e., the "him" whom Adonai set forth to slay.) Moses' wife, Zipporah - perhaps
intuiting Adonai's intention - quickly circumcises Gershom with a flint knife
and touches her child's bloody foreskin to Moses' legs, saying, "Surely, you are
a bridegroom of blood to me . . ." This action is, apparently, sufficient to
persuade Adonai to spare Moses' and/or Gershom's life. I've been told that the
Name "Adonai" refers to the Shekhinah, and the Torah later recounts Moses'
"marriage" to an un-named "Cushite woman" - the "dark but comely" maiden in Song
of Songs - whom I'm told is the Shekinah, some time AFTER this incident and,
thus, AFTER Moses' marriage to Zipporah (and the birth of their son, Gershom). I
seem to recall that Moses' sister, Miriam, is supposed to have "murmered against
Moses" for marrying this mysterious Cushite woman and, on account of that, G-d
punished Miriam by striking her with leprosy (which, in turn, necessitated
Miriam's departure from the "camp" [the "camp" in which the Shekhinah now dwelt
with her brother, Moses?], however temporary). I've also read that, at some
point after he received the Torah from G-d, for Israel, Moses ceased having
marital relations with his wife, Zipporah, because he was constantly in the
Presence of G-d (this sounds alot like a mystical union - a wedding, if you
will, with Moses' SECOND "Wife," the Cushite Woman - "the dark but comely"
maiden of Song of Songs - who is none other than the Shekhinah). I've also read
(in Genesis Rabbah 19:7, Numbers Rabbah 13:2, and Song of Songs Rabbah 5:1)
that, when Adam sinned, the Shekhinah withdrew to the first heaven; when Cain
sinned, She retreated to the second; in the generation of Enosh, She retreated
to the third; in the generation of the flood, She retreated to the fourth; in
the generation of the dispersion of the races of man, the fifth; because of the
people of Sodom, to the sixth; and because of the Egyptians in the days of
Abraham, to the seventh. The Midrash then states that, over against these wicked
men arose seven righteous men who brought it about that the Shekhinah came back
dowm to the earth. Abraham had the privilege of bringing Her down from the
seventh heaven to the sixth (from Binah to Chesed, the Sefirah of Abraham?);
Isaac rose up and brought Her down to the fifth (from Chesed to Gevurah, the
Sefirah of Isaac?); Jacob to the fourth (from Gevurah to Tifereth, the Sefirah
of Jacob?); Levi to the third (Tifereth to Nezach?); Kohath to the second (Nezach
to Hod?); and Amram (Moses' father) to the first (Hod to Yesod, the Sefirah of
Moses the Tzaddik, the Sefirah to which the blessed R. Abraham Abulafia refers
as "Bridegroom"?). The Midrash then conclude by saying, "Then Moses rose up [to
his degree, which is righteousness, Yesod, "the foundation of the world,"] and
brought [Her] down from the world above [from the Sefirah of Yesod, in which
"Bride" and "Bridegroom" were united] to the world below [viz., the Sefirah of
Malkhut (Kingdom), from which the Divine Influx is channeled to our world, which
is the lowest world, the world-of-action, from the upper worlds of Emanation,
Creation and Formation]." Is it proper to interpret the foregoing as implying
that Zipporah played a major role in this great achievement of her husband,
Moses? The Torah DOES call Moses a "Man of G-d" and, as the Zohar says, a man is
not really "a Man" unless/until he is joined with a wife, such that male &
female are united (as they were in G-d's Thought-of-Creation) and existing as
"one flesh" (Yesh). If this is true in the world below, how much more so in the
worlds above? Is it proper, then, to regard Zipporah as Moses' "wife below,"
without whom Ruach ha-Kodesh could not have descended and dwelt with Moses in
our world-of-action, thus making it possible for Moses to ascend to the Sefirah
Yesod, where (according to R. Abraham Abulafia) he is to be regarded as the
Shekhina's Supernal Bridegroom, the Tzaddik who has attached himself to all
levels and degrees (and who is therefore rightfully called "the foundation of
the world")? But what if Moses had not DESCENDED back down to our
world-of-action, after uniting with the Shekhinah above? Would she not have
"killed" Moses with "the kiss"? And if that had happened, whould the Shekhinah
have remained in the upper worlds, instead of joining us here, in exile, in our
world-of-action? Perhaps this scenario describes WHO Adonai - that is, the
Shekhinah - set out to "kill" (w/ "the kiss") - that is, Moses - and WHY - that
is, because the Shekhinah LOVED HIM and desired to be united with him in Her
abode in the upper worlds. And is it possible that Zipporah prevented the
Shekhinah from accomplishing Her purpose - thus maintaining her husband below -
by touching Gershom's bloody foreskin to Moses' "leg" (which I understand as
referring to the Sefiroth of Hod & Nezach - the Sefiroth of Prophecy - in Moses,
contaminating Him and thus FORCING his DESCENT from his "wife above" [the
Shekhinah], from their "abode above" [Yesod], to our world-of-action, below?
Perhaps that is why Zipporah said, "Surely, thou art a bridegroom of blood TO
ME" - that is, to Zipporah, in the world below, NOT to the Shekhinah, as in the
world above? And if this is so, wouldn't the Shekhinah have to consummate her
continued longing for and love of Moses (so to speak) by descending from their
abode above, to Moses' and Zipporah's world below? Perhaps this is one of the
reasons that Moses is credited with having ascended (in prophetic ecstasy?)
above and brought the Shekinah down from the world above to the world below? Or
am I totally crazy for believing this? Please set me straight: I do not wish to
persist in error, if error this is. Also, what is a "Maggid"? Does a "Maggid"
have to be a living person? If not, do people today have supernal "Maggidim,"
even people who are sinful & undeserving? May G-d bless you with every blessing.
Thank you for your time and patience.

Except for the occult aspect of the kabbalah, I'm unfamiliar
with the traditional aspects. Since the occult subjects that I've been studying
seem to all go back to the kabbalah as their foundation I thought that I would
go directly to the source and have since then abandonned the occult version of
the kabbalah. I'm currently reading the Sepher Yetzirah and some other books by

The Kabbalah Institute needs to open a learning center in
Boston. I have been to the one in Miami and I know of the one in NY. Learning
Kabbalah and studying the Zohar is the path we all should follow - it is truth

Great site. I have recently been reading God is a Verb about
Kabbalah. I was interested in Kabbalah as I have a series of 48 paintings that
appear to be the Exodus and good many of the symbols in the art (that is quite
old) are from the Kabbalah. Have you ever heard the 5 worlds (soul) called The
Five Planets. Does Obadiah have anything to do with Kabbalah? If your looking
for a publisher try Medicine Bear Publishing in Blue Hill Maine, USA. They
publish mystical books . Tell them I referred you I did the Visions and Dreams
Divine Deck. Symbolic Spiritual cards. I will keep looking at your site and
reading. It is wonderful Donna

The study of Kabbalah is a life long process and anyone who
thinks he or she knows it all doesn't. Besides being an external learning, it is
also internal. My studies have taken through many books, rabbis and now
websites. I have my doubts that the world wide web will provide a unique source
to kabbalah but I'm willing to try since I have not had the opportunity for live
discussuions with a kabbalist.

Many blessings to you for your website. I converted to Judaism
in 1985, but I have never learned much about the Zohar or Kabbalism. I think
your site is the most inspirational encounter of my life. I can not wait to
enter it every day. The musical is absolutely beautiful and inspiring plus all
of the differnt written portions. I have just started the lessons, but I do not
know how much that I will ever understand in the lessons. I am sure I need to do
some reading in the Zohar or rather read, reread, discuss with rabbi, to ever
get very far. However, my soul reaches out to all that you have in your sight.
It has been a great comfort also at this time in my life. Thank you in every way

I have been interested in Kabbalah for a long time. I did not
realise Judaism had so much in common with Eastern philosophies. I was taught
you had to be over 40 to look into Kabalah. I have come across a lot of
disapproval of my beliefs by other Jews who say it is superstition and not to be
discussed. I feel closer to my soul when thinking and learning about Kabbalistic
ideas. It is not a coincidence that I have discovered your web page today. I was
actually looking for a poet who wrote," I said to a man standing at the gate;
'Get me a light so I might find my way in the dark.' The man replied, Put your
hand in G-ds hand and that will light your path with more light than you could
possibly need.' Or something like that.

Wonderful information, thanx for this astounding work. A
question: assuming we know of pre-jewdaic sourses for Genisis , what is known of
pre-jewdaic sourses for the Qabalah? And what is thought of the modern useage of
Qabalah by the Occult world in western magickal traditions (Golden Dawn &
later)? thanx!

Out of the void came light. I am a part of that light. I have
been blessed with parents (although they may not know it) who raised me to see
the light in all things; air, trees, tables, people since an early age. It has
been the only true light in this world. Knowing that the spirit and essence of
G-d lives in all things, animate and inanimate, in this world and the worlds to
come. It has always been there for me as it was always meant to be there. I
thank you for your giving of more of this knowledge and endevour to continue
towards the void. Shalom

I am currently studying under a brilliant Rabbi and have been
blessed with a very orthodox community with two Hahamim and four Pakidim in the
northern mountains of Montana, USA. I have also been given strict instructions
not to read or speak of Kabbalah until I know Torah; oral (Talmid) and written
inside out. Kabbalah (things which are hidden) is mytical knowledge that is
self-concealing and self-revealing. It is clear that you are will to share your
knowledge and I applaud your ability to share secrets in such a way that it is
not a blaspheme to the Jews' tradition of keeping Holy things Holy, and secret
things secret. Baruch HaShem.

In my opinion the kabalah is what christianity lacks. The
kabalah is truly fascinating to me please let me know when you find a publisher
for your kabalistic texts. I really don't know hebrew very well (i can read it
but i have a very small vocabulary) i assume that there is alot more gained from
the texts when read in hebrew and anylising it and doing stuff like reading
every eight letter backwards. if i read a translation in english will i miss out
very much? i suppose i can wait till i'm older since i've heard your not
actually supposed to study kabalah until you're thirty. well, anything you can
tell me i appreciate it.

I am interested in Kabbalah. My concern is whether this is
truly what the Almighty, Blessed be the Holy Name, would have me do. I don't
want to do anything contrary to Torah and the will of the Almighty. Is Kabbalah
mysticism and the teachings something the Law of G-d tells us not to be involved
with like that of the pagan nations with their psychic, magic, and etc.? Thank

To understand Qabalah, one needs to ask one question. "What is
the meaning of the word ONE?" This begins to define monotheism. And begins and
ends to define G-d. King Solomon warned that knowledge increases sorrow. That
there is endlessness to study and to books that pretend to know so much. DEFINE
ONE and you will define your-Self's place in the UNI-verse.

I immensely enjoyed your web-page. I too was inspired by the
recent barage of Madonna interview; in which she spoke of the Kabbalah. I had
hear about it before. I was intrigued by its mystical nature. For some time now
I have been longing for a better relationship with and uncerstanding of God. As
I read each page it seemed to read my mind. Every question I had was answered in
the next paragraph. I'm still hung up on the idea of suffering and the reasons
for the gulf between God and humanity. I want to and I know that I should persue
Him with all of my heart and soul. The only problem is that, I still can't shake
the feeling that what he is doing in this world is not right. If I go to him who
will be there to accuse Him of the wrong He has done, by not fully revealing
himself to humanity.

To my very little understanding, Islam and Judaism speaks
about only ONE GOD. Why then Jews are banned in Saudi Arabia? I don't
understand. Please send me e-mail about this... After having browsed the
"comments" made by the readers, I keep wondering why are sounding like very
happy about this page. This page is telling everyone to forget about their own
material desires and live their life in the will of God. For me, truly, it is
very nice to hear about the message this page brings... but I tell all of you,
this is not an easy one to take! I have tried many times to be nice and good and
get myself closer to GOD the farther I feel I am getting away from HIM...
because I am "only" human prone to follow the "will of the flesh"... and I
cannot do anything about it! The worst is that I am fully aware that I am

The Kabbalah is a way to pull mankind together. Only if we
pull together, will we be able to expand. The kingdom of G-d is with us, deep
within and far without - we only have to look. This website has given me insight
and I want to thank Bnei Baruch...blessings be upon them. I can not help but
add: Whether Madonna is interested in the Kabbalah does not change her past,
only her appearance in the media. If the well of excess has been emptied, does
that mean that you turn to the well of righteousness?

Like someone has stated before, I have only heard of the
kabbala recently thru interviews with Madonna and Sandra Bernhard. Then after
hearing the Madonna ray of light cd and feeling the peace in her voice and the
things she says now, I had to start my spiritual search again. I have ignored it
for so long and I feel that I have begun a new journey, thank you

I have never heard of the religion Kabbalah. this may seem odd
but when i heard Madonna speak of and i saw how much this has changed her life i
thought that i would look up info about this. i have been in a religion war
recently and i am looking for the truth reading the articles in this have opened
my eyes to a possibly new religion for myself. I am basically thanking Madonna
for spaking about this because if she hadn't i would have opened door that i
would of rather stay shut. So if by any chance Madonna gets back to this site
and reads this. HERES TO YOU MADONNA THANKS

A few years ago, I first heard of Kabbalah on a televised
movie where it was stated that Kabbalah is taught only to mature Hebrew males
proficient in the Torah. This launched me on a quest, unfruitful at first, until
I went on-line. Thanks to you and others like you I have learned what to quest
for and what to avoid. I have a hunger to know our G-d, to draw closer, and to
walk in the light of faith, not walk in blind faith as the Christian church
teaches. I do thank the Christian church for the teachings it provides. I need
more. I need the true teachings of Kabbalah.

Hi, I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your website.
I became interested in Kabbalah about a year ago while surfing the web for
freemasonry. Why did the Kabbalah appear? only God knows. I never really read or
wanted to know about the Kabbalah at the time. I was born again Christian at
that time and when I mentioned it to my pasture he alluded to the fact that it
was Jewish witchcraft. One year later along with my dillusionment with religion
and again finding myself in the same spiritual void, I found myself at a tattoo
studio getting some work done. We started talking about masonry and one of the
artist really was into things of that nature. Let give you some insight about
where the studio is located. It is a part of town where many orthodox Jews live.
The reason why I mention this is because the artist who was well read on masonry
stated that these individuals who wore black and spoke to no one were in fact
masons and followed the teachings of the Kabballah. Well whether this was true
or not my curiosity was struck but I didn't know where to start inquiring about
the Kabballah. After this experience I kind of forgot about the Kabballah and
returned to the everyday struggles of living. The Kabballah did not appear in my
life again until I began reading a book," The holographic Universe " by Michael
Talbot. The author makes reference to the Kabballah as well as other mystic
philosophies. After reading the book, maybe a week later, I found myself driving
down Robertson Blvd. and there it was, like a beacon " The Kabballah Center " I
entered maybe a week later just to inquire about it and eventually attended an
introductory meeting. I am on a spiritual journey and I know kabballah will play
a pivotal role in that path but it seems that my imperfectiona and frailty get
in the way of my spiritual growth. I have not returned to the center but there
is incredible attraction to it. I believe that these teachings that Kabballah
offers can aid me in my search. Thank you for listening and if there is anything
that you think I should know please e-mail me thank you.

An humorous way to find the meaning of Kabbalah is to search
Allah in the cab. If Allah is not in the cab, in our regular way of seing
things, we can try again to find Allah with a new approach. If we look deeply
and put our self-consciousness outside the cabin, Allah is there and here,
always here and now in the sphere called the Great beyond.

I've been studying esoterica including kabbalah for many
years. I've always been fascinated by the Lurianic teachings. I've read Scholem,
Aryeh Kaplan, Moses Luzzatto, Rabbi Ashlag & Rabbi Krakovsky in the field of
Kabbalah & other writers too. So I found your material very interesting;
especially the on-line study courses. Reading the text & studying the diagrams
helped me to understand certain aspects about the Lurianic teachings that
weren't clear before. Oh, I think the music's good too. There's not many sites
where they have original music appropriate to the topic. I found some of the
music extremely melancholic (although still very evocative), but the piece on
the page where you have the founders (R. Ashlag & his son) is more powerful &
uplifting. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Hello: I am fairly new to Kabbalah. Is there such a thing as a
Kabbalah chart that can be assembled for an individual to assist them with
greater understanding of their life's purpose? I would sincerely appreciate
hearing back from someone regarding this. Thank you. Joy

I feel myself very happy observing the developement of the
Bnei-Baruch group starting from first books of Rav Laitman on Kabalah. But I
become much more happy, when I can feel that this developement is inevitable.
Thank you for your hard work which helps me to feel the true value of things!

I access this site daily! I've found a "spiritual home" here
on your website, and with the fellowship of others on the Paths while reading
the discussions on the bulletin board. I'd like to see some more discussion on
the Kabbalah for Christians.

Even tho my dear father was an orthodox Jew, he never taught
us Kaballah. I've always wanted to study it. When I found your page tonight, I
felt like I arrived home. Thank you and G-D Bless you, Sincerely, Roslyn

I have always wanted to have an opportunity to study the
Kabbalah. As a Bahai, it is imperative we study to continue to grow and not just
Bahai materials. Thanks.
