What is Light?

Q: Are the Light of the Creator, which Kabbalah speaks off, and the Light that is referred to in the first day of the creation of the world, the same?

A: There is only one Light and that does not change. But it is accepted in various forms due to differing states of the vessels (the creature, the soul) – depending on the vessel’s ability to receive. From this we learn that we have no concept of the Light that is outside the vessel, because we cannot define something that is out of our sensation.

Light is the sensation of the Creator by the creature; what stems from the Creator; something that we feel as “good,” whereas we feel its absence as “bad.”

The Light that is spoken of in the first day of the creation of the world is the uppermost Light, which includes everything in it. The rest of the Lights are but derivatives of it, particular manifestations of it.
