What is in this lesson?

  • The Thought of Creation, which is to create a creature and fill it with unbounded delight, is the force guiding our evolution. We were created for one purpose only: to reach a perfect and eternal state.
  • We are built to pursue pleasure and avoid pain. This is our inborn nature.
  • Suffering occurs in our world as a necessary stage of our development.
  • The purpose of suffering is to make us ask about its cause.
  • The cause of suffering is that our inborn nature (i.e. egoism) is opposite to the nature that created it (i.e. altruism).
  • By discovering this cause, we are given the opportunity to become consciously involved in our life's process of development. We can then develop ourselves ahead of the wave of pain and disaster, and accelerate our development completing many lifetimes of progress in a single day, while at the same time freeing ourselves from our egoistic inborn nature.
