The Kabbalah Experience: The Definitive Q&A Guide to Authentic Kabbalah

Feeling the Passage

Q: Does one feel the process of crossing the barrier? If so, is this feeling continuous or temporary? I mean, can we tell ourselves with certainty that we are already THERE?

A: A person goes through all the processes both before and after crossing the barrier in full consciousness, but the crossing itself is impossible to predict in advance. Crossing the barrier occurs only in a one-way direction, to the spiritual world but not back to ours. It means attaining “ Lishma,” the intention “for the sake of the Creator,” and consequently, complete unity with Him, like a fetus inside its mother’s womb, hence being filled with such a sensation, we certainly realize we are THERE.
