Shamati (I Heard)

89. To Understand the Words of The Zohar

I heard on Adar 5, February 15, 1948

To understand the words of The Zohar, we should first understand what The Zohar wants to say. Understanding what The Zohar wants to say depends on one’s dedication to Torah and Mitzvot [commandments], so the Torah and Mitzvot will bring him cleanness, to be cleansed of self-love. This is why he engages in Torah and Mitzvot. And to that extent we can understand the truth that The Zohar wants to say. Otherwise, there are Klipot [shells/peels] that hide and block the truth in the words of The Zohar.
