141. The Spirit of the Wise Is Displeased with Him

Spirit is called “the spirit of the wise,” which shines in the Kelim [vessels] of above reason, called Hassadim [mercies]. Hence, when one should receive the spirit of the wise, it is displeased with him. That is, it is not according to their spirit and they want to receive the quality of the wise and not the spirit of the wise. In other words, they want to receive within reason.

However, to receive the spirit of the wise, which is that Hochma [wisdom] will clothe in Hassadim, which is called “the spirit of the wise,” they cannot tolerate. This is called “The spirit of the wise is displeased with him.”

Although the literal meaning of “The spirit of the wise is displeased with him” means that it is not a good thing, since the wise say that it is wrong, but in the work, we can interpret that “The spirit of the wise is pleased with him” is above reason, whereas “displeased” is when people want to receive everything within reason.
