528. Prayer

A prayer: When a person learns Torah, he wants to know the connection between the Torah that he is learning, since when he learns rules it is clear that he needs judgments. But when a person learns Torah, and the Torah does not speak of judgments, so what is the connection between this Torah and the person?

If he wants to know and asks the Creator to understand the connection, this is called a “prayer.” This is a great and very important thing, since he has a connection with the Creator because he wants something from Him.
