592. The Names of Malchut

“Widow” means that the person died in the middle, meaning that he died in spirituality, as in “The wicked in their lives are called ‘dead.’”

“Divorced” means that he ejected her—the kingdom of heaven—from his home.

“Desecrated” means he desecrated her where he should have sanctified her with a treatment of respect. He desecrated her honor and went to engage in secular matters.

“Prostitute” means that it nourishes and sustains a person. That is, only if Malchut gives him nourishment will he take it upon himself. Otherwise, he does not want it.

“Virgin” is like “virgin soil.”
