618. Awakening – 2

Male is called Hassadim [mercies], meaning that the lower one receives from above the desire to bestow, which is called “male.” That is, the lower one awakens and wants to approach the Creator but cannot. It follows that “When a woman inseminates,” meaning the person, who is extended from Malchut, “she delivers a male child.”

Man means the Creator. When the awakening comes from above, “she delivers a female child,” meaning that this is called “female light.” “She receives and does not bestow” means that when he is given an awakening, he receives, and when the giving stops, he stands and waits to be given an awakening. At that time, “she delivers a female child,” meaning that only light that receives and does not bestow can emerge from this work.
