277. When One of the Members of the Group Dies

“When one of the members of the group dies, all the members of the group should be concerned” (Shabbat 106).

When a person makes a daily schedule and divides the day into several parts, he connects himself to these arrangements. At that time, each part in itself is regarded as “one of the members of the group,” since all the parts connect into one order.

If one of the arrangements is cancelled by coercion, or a mistake, or on purpose, the rest of the group should be concerned. He should be concerned about all the other arrangements of the day, that they will not be cancelled, since the arrangement that was cancelled is regarded as dead, and then he should be afraid that all the other arrangements might be cancelled.
