419. Spies

“Send,” RASHI interprets, “I do not command you … for certain, I am giving them room for error.” Why? The spies told the truth, but we must believe above reason that it is good.

If we want to go within reason, I will give room for error so they will not inherit it within reason. Above (reason) is needed because only by this will they be able to receive in order to bestow, and within reason there is no free choice.

Kaleb went to Hebron so he could believe above reason, and Joshua, who was adhered to Moses, Moses prayed for him.
