Identifying The Place Of Choice
From the outset we must correctly stabilize the place in which we realize the free choice - only in our connection with the group. Meaning, we must check: Do I belong to the group's message? Is it my Hissaron (deficit) - for us to be as one man in one heart, for me to care more than that, that inside the connection between us we will feel the Godliness, the Creator, the quality of bestowal which encompasses us?
Prior to everything, one must stabilize that free, empty area that he does not occupy, as it is written, "For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me." If one identifies that empty space, he has a place from which to start working and where to feel the repentance.
Building The Importance
You must 100% yearn for all moments in your life to be dedicated to the obtainment of the goal. The human in you lives for that. Ask yourself: What should I occupy myself with? What should I think? What is that importance? Building the "importance" is similar to the breathing process - back and forth, back and forth; this is how you must constantly yearn more and more for the goal that you draw for yourself.
The Importance Is Everything
You get attached to something according to its degree of importance to you. If the thing is important to you, you adhere to it with all your strength, with all you have. And then, out of your investment, you know it, are familiar with it, "From Your actions I will know You." However, the importance is the means and not the implementation; the importance is not the adhesion itself, but to the degree of importance, to the degree of your yearning, you have the strength to overcome yourself. And to the degree of this overcoming force you eventually reach the Light that Reforms and acquire what is important to you. The importance is everything. And we must scrutinize every time what is more important to us and make a new arrangement in the importance every single day.
Receiving The Importance Of Spirituality From The Environment
Question by a Student: How is it possible to ascribe more importance to spirituality than to everything else in this world?
Answer by Dr. Michael Laitman: Through the group, through the society. Only once in a person's life one is given from above the importance of spirituality above this life, and from that moment on he must develop that importance through the group. One is brought to a group and is told, "Take it." The rest depends on the person - this is his free choice.
What is free choice? To develop importance toward what one receives from this group, to buy from it its importance, so that it will become his. The ball is in our hands. We have been given everything, we have been brought to the place, to the teacher, to the environment, to the books, and we have been given the desire to connect with them. From here on, it depends on us. If we do not implement it, it can all be taken away from us and we can be returned to our previous beastly lives.
Dissemination = Correction
There is a goal and it precedes everything: the adhesion, the Creator's revelation to the creature. Now, what should we do in order to achieve this adhesion? The action that I must perform is generally called "correction." But how do I correct myself in order to achieve adhesion? For that, different means exist: group, study, dissemination, the teacher. I must gather and check the importance level of each of them to me - what is the connection between them and so on. This is the method, and these are the means that I possess in order to reach the goal.
If we speak about the Creator's revelation to the creature, about how the world is global, and about how these days the whole world must reach "for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them" and "for My House shall be called a House of prayer for all the nations," then I must disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah in the whole world. That is because right now I am already in a net of interconnected souls, and my dissemination cannot be for myself only or for a small group, but to the whole world. The reality requires us to do so.
Therefore the dissemination is not just dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah to people, but the revelation of the method of correction to that net that is revealed. Thus I correct myself within that collective net. Perhaps the word "dissemination" is not successful enough, it may sound like dissemination of a product that I am trying to promote, but it is not like that. Dissemination is revelation to those who have already been awakened within that net in which I am connected with the whole world, that we must correct the connection between us in order to reveal the Creator in it. The word dissemination may not fit here, but this is the action of correction itself: very simple. I do not want someone to simply know what Kabbalah is, but I disseminate to him because I am dependent upon him, upon this net, and he is dependent upon me, and we must correct the connection between us. Meaning, dissemination = correction, period.
